You can download the original drivers from Acer directly.
Driver Acer TravelMate 4100 Windows XP Acer Driver Support Centre

In order to remove unwanted drivers:
  1. Click on Start and then Run.
  2. Type the following command in the Open: text box, and then hit the Enter key or click on the OK button. devmgmt.msc Device Manager should display right away.
  3. Use Device Manager to update device drivers, view the system resources that Windows XP has assigned to your hardware devices, etc.
  • Find and double-click the category of device whose driver you wish to uninstall (for example, the graphics card would be listed under Display Adapters).
  • Right-click the device, and click Uninstall.Windows will prompt you to confirm the device's removal.
  • Click OK to remove the driver. After the uninstallation is complete, reboot your computer as soon as possible.
  • Install the appropriate driver and again reboot.
Caution: After rebooting while uninstalled a device, windows might try to install again the same driver, because it found new hardware. Press Cancel and install your new driver.

Acer travelmate 4100 works fine with no battery

Try to use another OS, like Ubuntu Live, and see if the mouse and KB will freeze. If they wont freeze, It is better to reinstall the OS.

If they will freeze again with Ubuntu, then I am sorry to tell you that the battery life has finished.

The only thing to do is to replace it for another one new.

Thanks for rating!!

I have on trAVel mate 4100, and i put windows 7, AND now i can not find audio driver for windows 7

Hi

Thank you for your query

Unfortunltey Acer only provide drivers for XP and Vista, i would recommned that you downgrade the operating system to Visat or XP and then wiat for Acer to release new drivers which they will do in due course

If this has been useful please leave positive feedback/vote/testimonial as

this will help me greatly - Thank You again

My acer TravelMate 4100 PC Notebook is lagging alot immediately when I startup. I have to wait for more than 10 minutes to start a programme and I could not use 2 programmes at the same time. What is...

First, run a Anti Virus scan, then a Malware scan.
Avast AV is a good free version, and Malwarebytes is for malware/spyware.
Update both software packages, and disconnect from the Internet when you run them.

Second, run a checkdisk, and a defragment your 'C:\' drive.
Open 'My Computer', Right click on the 'C:' drive, choose properties, and click on the 'Tools' tab. Click on 'Check Now' in the 'Error-Checking' section. Check both boxes, and click 'Start'. A Window will open up; select 'Yes' and reboot the computer. This may take some time, depending on the size of your Hard drive. After the check is complete, it will start Windows.

In the 'Defragmentation' section, click 'Defragment Now'. Confirm that the 'C:' drive is highlighted, and click 'Defragment'.

Hope this helps!

ACER 4100 TRAVELMATE

If this happened suddenly, the backlight power supply (inverter)  has probably failed. It could be the backlight itself but they normally will dim or flicker before they die.
Try shining a light at an angle on the display with the computer turned on and look at it from an angle too. You may be able to see video very faintly; if you do, then it is as described above; a backlight problem, not the LCD display itself.
