Not sure what you have done but you could try a restore

Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> System Restore --> Restore My Computer to an Earlier Time

Pick a bold date from the left --> and select a restore point on the right click restore

Please do not keep posting a new question use tha same one,
but if you do please remember to go back and give it a rating, Fixya if I have answered your question, or helpful etc. if it's only partially answered it,

Thanks HPC

Hi,

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Hard drive crashed. Got another hard drive and rescue disks from laptop mfr. Reloaded my 5D Professional and everything was fine. Then MS said Windows 7(64bit) had to download a bunch of updates.

Suggest you TURN automatic updates OFF. Use the manual method, and download the ones you want.

Reload your Windows 7 64-bit with auto updates turned off.
Now try it.

[ Windows XP Service Pack 3 s-ucked too. Problem, after problem, after problem. What to do? Oh, we'll just make another Operating System, (Vista), and sweep that under the rug.

Vista? Give me a break.
Oh, we'll just make another Operating System, and sweep that under the rug.

Now, look at how new Windows 7 is. Guess what?
Windows 8 is just around the corner.

You can see your problem started with the auto updates)

Hello! I have an Acer M7720 desktop computer, with 2 flatscreens running along. Since the day I bought it, the computer has problems with starting up. Brought it to repair during warranty but they didn't...

It sounds like you have a corrupt registry... :(

Vista handles their registry fixes a bit differently than xp.
However, I found a nice Microsoft article to help me out.

I'm pretty sure it is easier to repair the registry with Vista and 7, make sure to back it up!

Oh, one last note --- In my case with XP, it was a lot easier to manuver registry files if the Hard Drive is hooked up to another computer.

How to default computer system? It's like a new one.

You did not specify what brand of computer or operating system.

general advice:

To do a factory restore and set the computer software back to like when you first purchased it:

Windows XP:

You will need to visit the manufacturer's website and order the restore cd.

Windows Vista and 7:

Start the computer and tap F11 button. This will bring you to the factory restore wizard and allow you to erase everything on hard drive and install like the day you brought it home from the store.

My PC doesn´t recognize my Canon Pixma MX300

1. keep connect your printer and switch on,
2. re-install vista
3. it will detect all ports automatically and fix it
4. thru this u can find solution for your problem..
5. if vista ask for the driver, then install your printer driver from cd

all the best... try it

Brake line under master cylinder rusted and spraying fluid

Replacing rusty brake lines is a nasty job, but u can do it yourself and save a ton of money. A while back, someone else asked this question and decided to have a garage do it, and it cost $1200. U can purchase different lengths of brake line at any auto parts store, along with connectors to join the lines together. The dealer won't have pre-bent lines for a car that old, but u can buy the different lengths necessary to replace the rotted line. You'll have to follow the line to see where it ends, which may be quite a distance away. The problem is, by the time u have to replace a line, they all need to be changed. The labor cost is high, but u can purchase the lines at a low cost. Get the car uo on jack stands, soak the line connections w/ wd-40 or some penetrating oil for a day (or more if possible) to help in removal. Replace a section at a time w/ lines u bend to fit as u go.Good Luck

Word documents not opening with Vista

THIS IS THE PITS! I HAVE FOUGHT THE SAME THING ON MY HP LAPTOP WITH VISTA HOME PREM, AND MY DESKTOP HAS WIN XP PRO,SP2. MT VISTA HAS CRASHED ABOUT A THOUSAND TIMES AND MY XP PRO IS AS STABLE AS A ROCK! THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO THE XP DOCUMENTS. VISTA IS NOT BACKWARD COMPATIBLE AS XP IS WITH OLDER VERSIONS AND IT IS A PAIN WITH EMAIL ATTACHMENTS! IF IT IS CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH YOUR WORK I WOULD DO THE FOLLOWING. VISTA CAN BE REMOVED EXCEPT FOR THE FILE ITSELF AND XP CAN BE PUT ON YOUR NOTEBOOK. YOU THEN WOULD BE ABLE TO FUNCTION AS BEFORE. ANY GOOD COMPUTER SHOP CAN DO THIS SWAP QUICKLY AND HAVE YOU RUNNING AGAIN. I LOOKED INTO IT AND YOU JUST HAVE TO MAINTAIN THE VISTA FILE FOR THE SYSTEM TO FUNCTION BUT THEN THE XP OS CAN BE ADDED AS THE OPERATING OS. THIS DOES NOT CAUSE ANY DAMAGE AND LATER IF YOU WANT TO GO BACK TO VISTA YOU CAN JUST DELETE XP AND REINSTALL THE VISTA FILE AND EVERYTHING IS BACK THE WAY IT WAS. IT CAN BE DONE. AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO GIVE UP YOUR NOTEBOOK OR THE DUO-CORE AND HEAVY MEMORY ETC! CHOICE IS YOURS! HOPE THIS HAS GIVING YOU SOME HOPE AND AN IDEA ON HOW TO PROCEED. IF I CAN HELP MORE, JUST REPLY TO:

I have HP dv6517tx. i want to format vista and wants to install XP

my advice is not to as your bios would have been upgraded for vista and cause problems with drivers for your XP system

If you wish to install XP, install it on a seperate hard drive or partition to give you a dual boot choice as to whether you want to run XP or Vista.
