Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5500 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Sharing 5300 with more than one computer

I want to be able to use any one of the 4 computers I have to print to the EasyShare 5300, I don't want to have to unplug the USB cable from one computer and connect it to the other computer(s), I would like to be able to, at any time chose the EasyShare 5300 from any one of the computers and print to it.

The EasyShare is not set up to be on the home LAN, it has no ethernet connection. None of the computers are wireless so purchasing the bluetooth device will not solve the problem. The resolution must involve connecting to the USB port on the back of the printer and be able to connect to all 4 of the computers via USB.

I was able to see the printer connected to the one computer, unfortunately, the Mac G4 running OSX could see it but not link to it or access it. I could see it but not get it to work. Your answer helped point me in some directions I hadn't gone and at least gave me some other options. Your answer was 100% correct if the computers you are using can either a) are running the appropriate operating system or b) have the ability to go cross platform and make it work. Had I been running Windows Machines all running XP I'm sure it would have worked.

You can do this by using a router. If your home lan is wired then you would connect all computers to the ethernet ports on the router. Run the usb cable from the printer to the the computer. Turn on all computers you wish to be in the network as well as the printer & any modem you use to connect to your isp. Connect one computer to the internet. Start running the network wizard on each computer, starting with the one connected to the internet. When you have finished the wizard on all computers you might need to install the printer driver on all the other computers. You should now be able to print from any computer connected to your network. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

I have been trying to get my 5300 kodsk printer to

Try to print a picture in from the computer if it works then the printhead needs replacement (Call Kodak support).

If while printing picture still a black sheet is thrown out. Delete the Kodak printer icon from control panel > Printer and faxes . Restart the computer and re-connect the USB.

If these does'nt work try to COPY a pictue using only the printer, still u get a blank page try to install the ink cartridges and the printhead. Is still blank prints. The printer will be replaced

Sharing the printer

From the PC which the printer connected from USB is you are going to share it to the network.

Like for example of this pictures.

Faint printing

Try unplugging and repluging the printer to the computer.

Make sure the printer settings are correct in the printers properties box in windows (or other system)

Try another USB port and finally uninstall and reinstall the printer ,if it doesn't solve it then it will have to go to a Kodak service center.

Kodak 5300 printer problem

I would suggest the following :

1) Remove the Kodak printer and all its software.
2) Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
3) Reinstall the entire software applications for the printer just as if you were installing it for the first time.
4) When asked to connect the printer .. Use a different USB port .. even if you have to switch something out .. but do this step irregardless.

Now what I want to know is ..
1) Can you print from the computer?
2) Black still "gone" ?

Let me know
