I have a Whirlpool Gold Ultimate Care II washer (MOD# GSQ9669LW0) The washer stopped, was full of water and will not restart on any cycle or settings.

This problem sounds like a broken lid switch. Power to the drive motor is routed to the lid switch and if the lid switch fails, the machine will fail work on any cycle. Verify this by bypassing the lid switch.

Disconnect power to the washer then remove the screws securing the console to the rear of the cabinet.
5b58821.jpg

Pull forward and up on the console and lay it back on the hinges.
e5a5ab8.jpg

Disconnect the lid switch harness connector by pressing on the tab located in the middle and pulling it up.
9698f29.jpg

Jump a wire between the outer terminals of the disconnected connector from the top of the cabinet then reconnect power. The problem is indeed the lid switch if the machine starts. Check the lid switch plunger and the lid switch attachment to the cabinet. It may not activate properly if the mounting is loose, re-tighten it. Replace the lid switch if the plunger is intact and and if it is mounted tightly and properly.

The cabinet is attached to the rear of the washer by two brass-colored retaining clips. Insert a flat blade screwdriver into the turned-up edge of the clip, located on both sides, and then pry back to release the clip from the slot in the cabinet.

How can I replace the pump belt of a washing machine Sears Kenmore model #110.82671710 stock #26717

The Kenmore top load washing with the given model number 110.82671710 is a direct-drive type and doesn't have a pump belt. The pump is directly coupled to the rear spline of the motor.

The washer filled up with water but wont turn on

This is a clear evidence of a broken lid switch. Power to the drive motor is routed through the lid switch. The machine, therefore, will not turn on when the lid switch is not working. Manually activate the lid switch and if still doesn't work, bypass the lid switch. Disconnect power then jump a wire between the outer terminals of the disconnected connector from the cabinet top then reconnect power. Replace the lid switch to address the problem if the machine works with the lid switch bypassed.

Release the console from the top of the cabinet depending on the model of your machine then pull forward and up on the console and lay it back on the hinges.

Our Kenmore washer (23812) stops working at the spin cycle, and the water will not drain out of the machine. Help!

This is a clear evidence of a broken lid switch. Power to the drive motor is routed through the lid switch during the drain/spin cycle. The machine, therefore, cannot drain and spin when the lid switch is not working. The drain pump doesn't work because it is directly coupled to the rear spline of the motor. Replace the lid switch to address the problem.

When Washing is starting to fill with water and the detergent, it doesn't fill in the machine instead leaks out of where you fill the detergent

there are tubes that run from that dispenser into the machine and most likely, they are not attached.

  1. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screw from each side of the console.
  2. Pull the console forward and up to remove the tabs on the bottom of the end caps, out of the holes in the top.
  3. Lift the console up and lay it on its back.
  4. Unplug the harness connectorfor the lid switch.
  5. Insert a flat screwdriver into the front edge of the clip (located on both sides), and pry back. Remove both clips from the holes in the cabinet and slide down the other end of the clips and out the slot in the rear panel.
  6. Open and hold the lid while grabbing the cabinet front opening. Be sure when tilting the cabinet that the back edge clears the vacuum break.
  7. Tilt the top of the cabinet toward you by pulling on the lid and opening of the cabinet. This releases the back slots of the cabinet from the tabs in the back of the base.
  8. Carefully pull the cabinet away from the base of the washer and set it aside.
Now you have access to most of the parts.
now you can see where the small hoses are attached to the dispenser and where they attach to the drum. You also can see if there is something that is broken on drum itself as well. This should solve your troubles

Hello
Welcome to Fixya
My name is Huum,

Faulty Direct Drive Coupling (Whirlpool / Kenmore / Roper / Estate)
The Direct Drive (motor) Coupling may be broken. Many Whirlpool/Kenmore brands washing machines utilize a small, relatively inexpensive direct drive motor coupling. It's plastic and rubber and is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other.

It can wear out over time or fail under overloading conditions. This protects your transmission from excessive loading.

**NOTE**
The diagrams referenced in this article are available for download in the Attachments section below:

1.) Preparation
It should be obvious but the first step should be to unplug the washing machine. Then pull it away from the wall a six to eight inches.

2.) Rotate Control Panel
Locate and remove the screws (items 49 on the Control Panel Diagram) that are installed in the base of the both the left and right side control panel end caps. Once the screws are removed, pull up and forward on the control panel. The control Panel will rotate toward the back. Tilt it back until the hinges catch. Allow it to rest there.

3.) Unplug Harness
With the Control Panel Assembly folded out of the way you should now disconnect the wire harness that connects the console to the main case. The harness plug disconnects from the top of the cabinet.

4.) Remove Clips
Use a flat head screw driver to remove spring clips (items 6 on the Cabinet Diagram) from both the left and right side of the cabinet top. This can be accomplished by inserting a flat head screw driver into the spring clip and pry toward the back of the machine. Once each clip is loose, feed the clip out of the hole in the rear panel.

5.) Detach Cabinet
Now open the lid. Use one hand to hold the lid open and the other to grab the front of the cabinet opening exposed when opening the lid. Tilt the entire cabinet assembly toward you by pulling both the front cabinet lip and the lid. This should release the rear locking tabs.

Use your knee as a lever to lift the front of the cabinet away from the washing machine base. This should release the front locking tabs and complete the removal of the cabinet from the machine.

Defective lid switch

Check the switch for continuity.
If it is found to be open, replace the switch assembly.

All functions operate normally except the machine will not agitate.

The agitator is driven by a couple of different methods. The first is the agitator is splined and slips onto the matching splines of the agitator shaft from the transmission. The second is the use of a bell coupling which is splined to the agitator shaft as well and the agitator snaps onto the coupling. If the agitator does not agitate, first remove the agitator and watch the agitator shaft to see if it is working properly. This will require a small load setting of water and the machine set to run. If the agitator shaft is working properly, it is either the splines on the agitator or the bell coupling that is defective. If the agitator shaft does not work properly, the problem is in the transmission

Kenmore 70 Series Washer

Most likely you need to replace the lid switch.
Open the lid and make sure the actuator that pushes the switch is still attached to the lid. Use a pen or screwdriver to depress the switch through the hole in the top of the cabinet, you should hear a click as the switch closes. I usually find that the switch has actually broken off from the cabinet and is hanging loose in the machine.
To replace the switch
Remove the screws that hold the console to the cabinet. Flip the console up and back like opening a car hood. unplug the wire connector for the lid switch. Pop out the two clips that hold the cabinet to the rear panel of the washer. The cabinet will tilt forward and slide off the machine base. You can now replace the switch from inside the cabinet.
If you need further help, please post the complete model number from the washer so I can see exactly how your washer is set up.
