What does the error code E04 mean on Whirlpool AWU610 Washer-Dryer

Any error code starting with "E" followed by numbers indicates a code meant for a service technician. Call your Duet dryer retailer or Whirlpool directly to set up a servicing appointment.

Dryer not working. failure code E2

The electronic control board detected that the thermistor located on the blower housing is shorted (zero resistance). Either the wire harness connecting the thermistor and the electronic control board has a short circuit or the thermistor is indeed shorted. Click on the link below for the detailed troubleshooting instructions of this problem.

My dryer stops after 15 seconds and the code is E2, what does this mean?

E2 and fast shutdown is a shorted thermistor. The thermistor is mounted on the blower housing right next to the duct fusethemobilian_1226.jpg

Code E1

E1 or E2 Thermistor Failure

The dryer will not operate if the exhaust temperature drops below 18 degrees F. or exceeds 250 degrees F.

When the thermistor circuit is open (>50K ohms), the error code E1 flashes in the display.

When the thermistor circuit is shorted (<500 ohms), the error code E2 flashes in the display.

Normal thermistor resistance values:
60 degrees F. - 15.3K ohms.
70 degrees F. - 11.9K ohms.
80 degrees F. - 9.2K ohms.

Take the top off the dryer and inside you'll find the "tech sheet." It has instructions for removing the front panel and locating the thermistor.
