Panasonic DMP-BD35 region free hack

May I ask if there is a DVD region free hack for this model using its remote control or the Harmony 620? If there is for the Harmony, how? Thanks.

DMP-BD35 region hack for DVD (PAL Only)
Info: There are a series of ten separate codes required for
this hack. They each need to be output in numerical order
with about a half a second gap between each command. Ideally
you should create a macro sequence on your remote which
inserts this half a second gap automatically.

Panasonic Code 1: 0000 0070 0000 0032 0080 0040 0010 0010

. Use the Key-Magic button and not the code 994.

2. The buttons on the Kameleon are very sensitive and it's easy to press the buttons for too long once you have programmed and send the same code twice. For this reason I set the 1-0 key press sequence up as a Macro on the RED button and it worked fine.
Here's a bit of useful info to find out the firmware version:
upgrade the firmware
Press setup button on remote, highlight 'Display' and press enter button. Press status button and the firmware version

1. Use the remote that came with the player to bring the player out of standby, make sure there isn't a disc in it.
2. Press the Activity button "Panasonic Hack" and the remote will send the 10 hack commands in sequence.
3. If all works ok the Blu Ray player will reboot
When its finished it will not actually tell you its region free, just simply try it with different region DVDs.

Hi,
Sorry no codes for this device.. think you're going to have to ask the guy who submitted it what he means by that. I have seen hacks that can only be applied to DVD players sold outside of North America so it might possibly mean that it only applies to such players, which includes more than just region 2. I'd try sending him a private message and hope he responds.

That hack is awful! It requires the use of a specialized remote. You better be careful because if you have to enter that much **** into the player to get it to be region free, if you make even one mistake it could brick the player.

Thank you....

If you have a receiver with analog in jacks you could get the bd-55 and you wouldn't miss out on anything because the bd-55 can internally decode the hd audio and has the analog out jacks.
if your receiver doesn't have analog in jacks to pair with such a receiver then you will be stuck with down-rezzed audio because you cannot get any lossless audio through optical--only the lossy core.
as far as the other issue there are bd players that people have found ways to make region free for "regular" dvds, but I don't know if the Panny's fall into that category.
I haven't heard of these Panny players being able to be made region free for "regular" dvds, but the info certainly could exist.
I highly doubt they will convert NTSC to PAL so you will need the tv to be able to accept a PAL signal even if they can be remote hacked.
Is where you live PAL based or NTSC based?
From my understanding most of sets outside the US accept both types.
there are modded players for sale on the web, but they are VERY expensive.
If money isn't an issue that would maybe be the way to go. __________________

You can then apply this profile to your remote and you'll have one activity entitled: "Region Free Hack"

    Then follow the instructions below:

    Quote:

    1. Use the remote that came with the player to bring the player out of standby, make sure there isn't a disc in it.

    2. Press the Activity button "Region Free Hack" and the remote will send the 10 hack commands in sequence.

    3. If all works ok the Blu Ray player will reboot

When its finished it will not actually tell you its region free, just simply try it with different region DVDs.

After recharging the remote, it's time to install the included
CD software that will configure your Harmony 880 to your computer.
After the software installation, you simply plug the remote into your computer
USB port where you will be taken to the Logitech website to create a personal
    account for your device.
Here is where things get real fun! All the programming of your
Harmony 880 remote will be done through Logitech's website. After creating
a personal account for your remote, you will be asked to register your
individual Home Theater components. This process involves typing in the
make and model number of each component. In doing this, you pull
individual equipment codes off of a master user database and create a file
that represents your Home Theater package. All your settings and changes
will be saved on the Logitech website for easy download to your remote. The next step is to create an activity. This step
enables you set up a "macro" that will turn on and adjust each piece of
    equipment

Note: Region Free Blu-ray can only be achieved with a hardware modification.

This information is to be used entirely at your own risk and I accept no liability whatsoever.

Under no circumstances should you post this log-in information or
pass it on. I do not want it to get into the wrong hands and have the
    profile messed around with.

    1. Post in this thread with a request for the Log-in details and I will send you them via PM.

    2. It is vital that only 1 user is logged in to the Harmony account
at-a-time. So please check here that nobody is logged in and, if all
clear, post here to say you are logging in.

    3. Use the details to Login to the Harmony Software (You may have to logout of your normal account first)

    4. Select "Replace Remote" to change the profile to your own model. If that is unavailable, "Update Remote" should also work.

    5. Once your remote has been updated you can disconnect it from your PC then please Logout of the account.

    6. Now please edit your forum post to say you are logged out to give the all-clear to the next user.

    7. Use the following instructions to apply the hack:

    Quote:

    FOR PANASONIC

    1. Use the remote that came with the player to bring the player out of standby, make sure there isn't a disc in it.

    2. Press the Activity button "Panasonic" and the remote will send the 10 hack commands in sequence.

    3. If all works ok the Blu Ray player will reboot

When its finished it will not actually tell you its region free, just simply try it with different region DVDs.

http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks?dvdplayer=Panasonic+DMP-BD35&hits=50&Search=Search

It looks very hard to implement!

Hi follow these and try.......... 1. Power on your player with no disc in the tray. Wait for message "No Disc" in the top left hand corner of your screen.
2. Press and hold the Repeat button on your remote control for approximately 5 seconds.
3. Enter the code below. (Note that you must know what Region your player is currently set to in order to know which code is appropriate.)
for Region 1 use 2, 9, 3, 3 and 4
for Region 2 use 3, 8, 7, 6 and 7
for Region 3 use 5, 6, 7, 3 and 2
for Region 4 use 7, 6, 8, 8 and 4
for Region 5 use 5, 3, 8, 1 and 4
for Region 6 use 2, 4, 4, 6 and 2
4. The message "No Disc" will now be replaced with the default region number of your player. For example, Australian and N.Z players will display a small "4".
5. Press "9" for multi-region.
6. Open tray and insert your title.
7. Close tray.
The player will continue to hold the changes you have made. If this does work for you the first time, keep repeating steps 2&3 until the players default region number appears. The amount of time holding the repeat button does seem critical.
And I am also keen to find out more about the 2.1 upgrade.........as the Samsung Oz site has only 2.0 whereas overseas forums mention 2.3 and 2.4.

    1. Use the remote that came with the player to bring the player out of
standby, make sure there isn't a disc in it and wait for the Home menu
    to appear.

    2. Press the Activity button "Sony Hack", keeping
the remote pointing at the player for approx. 5 seconds until the 24p
    light starts flashing

    3. Put the player back into standby with the Sony remote

    4. Next time you turn on the player it will be region free for DVD playback

Hi again, sorry for the last post it was the wrong model lol
What Taran says is correct but you will have to update the remote control first via a PC and join avforums.com for a private message for login details to update the remote. Check this forum out and read the info, apparently it works !!!!

Region hack is considered illegal by factory, and on many model there is not even waty to do region hack.

On your model the way is complicate.

If you hae the american model, the only way to make this multiregion, byying an harmony remote for $50:

Logitech Harmony 550 Advanced Universal Remote ...

and then inserting all the code above, or programming the remote to do so.

This will make it region free.

An alternative is finding a repairer that does this service, they have service programmable remotes, or they can replace the chipset, easier for them.

The Harmony Hack does not work on US player.

There is no known hack on US players of same model.

Find a local repair shop and have teh chip replaced.

You need to program the harmony remote to send all the following numbers with half second gap, or you need to enter numbers your self, but that is difficult, that is the only hack for this model (apart replacing chip).

    Numbers are:

Hi

There are a series of ten separate codes required for
this hack. They each need to be output in numerical order with about a half a second gap between each command. Ideally you should create a macro sequence on your remote which inserts this half a second gap automatically.

Codes (eg when you have a Pronto remote)

Panasonic Code 1: 0000 0070 0000 0032 0080 0040 0010 0010

I need the multi region code for a Samsung DVD H1080

Sorry, there isn't one. Your model is not hackable.

The usual Samsung hacks involve using the remote to enter the correct numbers but your model has no number keypad on the remote. Substituting a universal remote also does not work and I've been informed by Samsung that the region coding on this model is hardware encoded just like on many Sony and Panasonic models so you cannot even override the coding using a service centre remote control (I've tried). I discovered this when a friend purchased a large quantity of clearance overstock region 6 DVD H1080's and asked me to convert them for resale in the UK (region 2).

To hack your model requires internal hardware replacement and this is not economically viable.

Region code hack posted by vassmanov, March 23 2009:
Press the Pause button on your remote control. Using your remote control enter the code 3,1,4,1,5 and 9, At this point, a blue screen displays showing that you are in 'region altering mode'. Press the 0 button on your remote control for Region free. Press the Pause button on your remote control. Power off your player and wait a few seconds. Power on your player and your ready to go!

It worked for me (after a few false starts)

ake a try-- the below procedure will reset your player and make your player region free......

The region free hack procedure:

* Login to the region free hack account (using Harmony client software)
* Update your remote (this will wipe out existing setup)
* Select the only device on the remote (the Panny device with the hack)
* Switch your player on without a disc in the tray
* Make sure the Panny is in DVD mode (not TV or Blu-ray - this is a DVD player hack!)
* Point the remote at the player and press 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0 in that order
* The player should then reset and be region free, if not, try the process again.

Coby TF DVD7107 region free hack doesn't work

Step 1- open the DVD tray Step 2- Press the "MENU" button on the remote control Step 3- Press" 8888" Step 4- Press the " DISPLAY" button Step 5- Select your region. I would suggest enter " 0", this will make it a all region player. Step 6- Press the " SETUP button to exit.

Originally this "hack" was for the 1708 model but it works for the 1718 model too.

1) Open the DVD Door, on remote press Setup, Right, Right, Right (that’s the arrows in the middle of remote)
2) Enter 9653,a service page will appear,
3) Use Up/Down Bottom to change region Codes
4) Set to 0 (zero) for multi-region

LG DVD player LG276

I picked up a LG DV276 DVD Player here in Australia but I am from the United States so I own region 1 DVDs. I unlocked my new player by instead 1. Open the tray. 2. Press 0 0 0 0 on the remote and a Menu will appear. 3. Press 0 for region free. 4. Press pause and power off.

I can play everything now, Aussie and US DVDs. Thanks LJ66.
