Question about Seagate FreeAgent Pro - 500GB, 7200 RPM, USB 2.0, eSATA, External 500 GB Hard Drive
I think that it is a problem with the usb port on the hard drive itself because when i commect my ipod in it works fine.
Does the drive work on another computer? Does it make clicking noises? If both answers are no then you propably have firmware issue. Those drives have a common firmware issue which can be fixed if you have the tools. I had this firmware bug in my Maxtor drive and I bought this kit to fix it
from Amazon. And since then I have fixed more than 20 Maxtor and Seagate drives with it.

Try using your SEAGATE Hard Disk on another PC , if it works then you have one of these problems,
1. Your USB Port in your PC (Or Laptop) is broken and you have to get another one*
2. You have a software problem (Try reinstalling your OS or scan for viruses).
3. The USB Cable has a problem (get a new one).
(*) some technician can replace your USB port or fix it, or you can buy a "USB Hub"
