Question about Apple iPod touch

Ipod touch with the backlight problem using 1.1.5, restored to factory settings, reset everything through the ipod nothing worked. I picked this ipod up like this. I can tap the sleep/wake button and get it to come on for a sec, and also if I go to brightness and turn all the way down and move about 10-15% up it flashes for a quick second again, If anyone has anything let me know I would be in debt to you thanks

I have the same problem with my iPod. It turns on but I can only see the screen when I have some kind of light shining on it. I have NO idea what is wrong with it, and I've tried most of the solutions and NONE of them have worked!!!

You most likely have a hard ware problem which i have heard of before and most likely will need to be replaced as long as it is in warranty

the actually light might be broken and firmware wont fix that. firmware is the software used to control the hardware. If you have tired all the software restores and resets and it still is the same result you have done everything you can. apple's hands are the last option

Reset my code to ipod touch

How to Unlock Screen Lock

According to Apple, if you have forgotten the code, you can unlock the iPod by doing the following:

Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.
If you can't unlock iPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod.Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod.
If you want to change the primary computer that your iPod is associated with, do this:
1. Restore your iPod. Warning: The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data.
2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer.
3. Open iTunes and synchronize.

Dock is not recognizing the Ipod

1) Back everything up on your iTouch.
2) Restore, using i tunes (connected to the computer. Not just 're-store' to factory settings under Touch settings).
3) Put everything back on to your iTouch.

Worked for me, if not for you- check that the faults not with your dock.

Im tryin to reset the password, when i hold the home and the other button down all i get is the cable and the itunes and nothing else happens.

You happened to restore your iPod to the factory settings, meaning EVERYTHING on there is now lost. Here is what you do to sync your iPod.
Step 1: Download and install iTunes if you don't have it already.
Step 2: Attach your iPod to your computer with the given USB cable.
Step 3: Follow the on-screen instructions. You should have a working iPod now.

Reset the ipod. Using the computer and ipod. If you do not how to do it, follow the steps to it.

1. Connect the USB between the computer and ipod. Be sure to have the latest version of itunes

2. Go to the ipod summary and click restore. Be sure to back up everything.

Note: Because you need to reset the ipod. Any files will be erased. Be sure to backup any files, Like i said above on step 2. After it resets, you can put it back to normal.

3. After a couple of minutes waiting for ipod to reset to factory settings. Put the name on and customize your settings.

4. Now, you can put back files to the ipod so it is ready to use.

Note: It is not necessary to put a code. It is easier to pick a easy code than rather picking a hard code. Or don't pick a code for ipod.

How do I reset and/or restore my iPod?
An explanation of the steps for fixing common problems with an iPod.
When someone has a problem with their iPod, people mostly tell them "Reset it!" or "You need to restore it." Here's how to do that.
1. Reset an iPod:
Toggle the Hold switch to on, then back to off (none of the red is showing).
Press and hold down the Menu and Select buttons (as shown in the picture) for 6-10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
For many problems, you may have to do this several times. The iPod may be hung up on several things so you have to tell it: "Reset that. Now reset this. Yes, reset that too" and etc.
2. Restore an iPod:
Warning: When you restore and iPod, you delete everything on it (songs, pictures, movies, files, games, firmware, etc.) Hey! That means any stuff that's on the iPod, but not in the iTunes library, will be lost. After deleting everything, iTunes reloads the iPod software with a fresh copy (referred to as "factory settings").
Using iTunes:
When the iPod is connected, select it in the Source list in iTunes. Under the Summary tab, there is a button named "Restore." Click it. Select the restore option you want then sit back. A progress bar will show you the status of the restore. When it's done, you'll see a message like "Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore." Now the iPod will show a progress bar. Do not disconnect during this part. When it's done, the iTunes Setup Assistant will prompt you to name and configure the iPod.
