A complete waste of money, I havent been able to use the machine since the first cartridges were used up. it just puts two red lights on and wont work. Ive uninstalled the software three times and put two lots of crtridges in it. Sadly I did not use it much in its first year so it want out of of waranty before I knew it was faulty. Its ended up unused and I am without a printer. I will not buy Epson again.

When I try to replace the black ink on my Epson CX8400 it tells me it "cannot recognize ink cartridges" even though I'm positive I have the correct ink cartridge. So frustrating.

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Epson stylus DX4400, i put new blak ink into the printer but a tesco version that is compatible, but the blak ink wont print, i dont get any error messages about it, my computer is telling me everything is...

I would recommend that if you are purchasing compatible cartridges for the first time that you purchase a complete set. This is because the compatibles may not function combined with the original cartridges you received with your printer.

Some cartridges also need you to transfer the chip from the original cartridge.

Trying to print n a epson printer without black ink carthiage

Unfortunately the Epson stylus needs both ink cartridges to print. I've tried useing an emty cartidge to "fool" the printer, but that won't work. When my Epson was ready for replacement I bought a printer (Lexmark) that prints with one cartridge empty.

I would like to refill Epson Stylus CX9400 old ink

I wouldn't recommend it because it will void your Epson warranty.

Color Ink prints are nice, but this cannot be an everyday printer --- the cartridges will put you in the poor house.

Buy a cheap monochrome laser printer (recommend the Brother brand) and save the purple ink for the elections.

Cheers!

My printer has a new ink cartridge but does not recognize the ink

What model printer do you have and can you list the print cartridge?
Also have you selected on the onboard printer menu that you have inserted a new cartridge?

Have you removed the pull off tape from the top of the cartridges, it lets air in enabling the ink to flow, easy mistake!

Epson stylus C88 won t print color ink black is

If you have carried out 4 to 5 head cleans, waited about 8 hours and done another 3 or head cleans doing nozzle checks after each clean (as recommended by the manual) and there is still no improvement then you will need a third party head cleaning solution such as this one:
http://websites.uk-plc.net/UK_Inkjet_Cartridges_PLUS/products/Print_Head_Cleaner.htm
Other makes & brands are available just google "inkjet head cleaning solution" Hope this helps.

Bought wrong ink

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but no...

The DX4200 uses:
Black T0611
Cyan T0612
Magenta T0613
Yellow T0614

... while the DX4400 uses:
Black T0711
Yellow T0714
Magenta T0713
Cyan T0712

Best bet is to eBay them or find someone who wants to trade.

Hope that helps.

I HAVE AN EPSON DX4400 ALL IN ONE PRINTER. I HAVE BOUGHT SO MANY DIFFERENT INK cartridge YET IT WILL NOT RECOGNISE ANY.

In March of 2007 Epson started putting a different chip in some of their cartridges so that refill companies couldn't refill them. My printer is a CX8400 just purchased last Oct but manufactured Dec of 2007. The date they changed the cartridges was March of 2007. You must then buy cartridges Original OEM or find a company that has cartridges for before that date or after depending on when your printer was made. Look at the bottom of the printer for little clock dials and you can determine the date of manufacture. On mine the first number was the year and the second the month. Check ink companies online to see if this applies to your printer. Some ink companies don't mention this or just send you the wrong ones. The older cartridges will not work in the newer models.

I have a epson DX4400 all in one series printer.

the ink cartridges for an epson stylus dx4400 are unrefillable, you have to use genuine epson ink with this printer.i have the same printer.you can buy a single black epson cartridge from asda, comet, tesco and other big well known stores.do not use other, cheaper copy cat ink cartridges as it really does ruin your printer.
