Re: the projection light appears to be out.
To open the case you need a plastic pry bar to unlock the plastic locking network that holds the case together. You must find a opening to use the pry bar in. Once you have it inserted in the opening, gently move the pry bar up and down and back and forth to unlock the plastic locks. You must do this very carefully so as not to damage the case locks. You must do this all the way around the case until it opens up. I hope this information help you with your problem. Thank you for using FixYa and have a nice day.

You probably have a bad ground connection somewhere. The brake light current is returning through the other lights [probably running lights] until you turn on the lights and the +12v is on both sides of the filament.
If the vehicle has had recent body work, take it back to the body shop and make them fix it.
Otherwise, look for the wiring going to the brake lights and follow it back to where a ground wire is [supposed to be] fastened to the metal chassis. It could be rust causing a bad connection.
If the turn signal and brake lights share the same filament, it could be in the turn signal switch. AGCO Automotive Repair Service Baton Rouge LA Detailed Auto Topics How To...
likely causes ------- plasma or large screen tvs, central heating pumps fridge or washhing machine motors, cheap chargers for mobiles or computers especially chinese ones, wifi modems, some cordless phones, florecent lights, a faulty low energy bulb, fish tank equipment,.......best thing to do if possible is turn everything off in your apartment and see if its still there, if it is then its coming from someone elses apartment so youl need to fit an external arial..if turning absolutly everthing off stops it then go round turning each item back on individualy checking the radio after each item and hopefully that will expose the offending item. good luck!
Bulb Replacement The flashlight in this unit use LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) instead of incandescent bulbs. These LEDs should last for the full useable life of the product and they are not consumer replaceable. There are no user serviceable parts inside this radio. Please refer all service problems to a qualified service facility
i had the same problem and followed a post on u tube to solve problem. i bought a tiny bulb, about the size of a popcorn kernel. it has two wires. one takes apart the face of the proton radio, and fishes out the bulb which is in a green sleeve. the bulb i bought at ametron made in Taiwan and was either 12 or 14 v (sorry i don't know much about electronics and i kind of forgot the exact size, but it was not the specified type, but close.) the bulb has two tiny wires which i spliced in. the flurescent radio dial now works, and actually seem to glow brighter with each use...
Yes the lights can be replaced all you have too do is open up the unit locate the led bulbs which serve as the light for the unit and unsolder them and put in replacements. But mostly led bulbs are quite difficult to become faulty as they contain few components which make them difficult to become faulty. So instead of replacing the lights get an expert to trace the power source if the lights are bad and check where the inconsistencies are from a the lights are still likely to be good. hope this solution has been helpful?
I had same problem with projection on my DP200. Pixels began slowly disapear after year of functioning. I found source of the problem. Contact between LCD matrix (it stays next to red LED) and circuit board with controller is poor.It is easy to fix. 1) turn-off device2) remove front (where the lens) and back plastic element (both are on glue)3) disassemble projection unit 4) press down "cable" to the board by your nail, and move it over it to make sure that each path has contact. 5) repeat #4 for second end of cable (on lcd matrix) 6) repeat #4,5 for second cable and second circuit board 7) turn-on device, avoid looking to LED light, and check picture on matrix (flashlight can help to see picture on matrix). 8) assemble it back
