The unit needs to be opened and have the fan checked. If it is out of warranty and you are capable you should be able to access the fan quite easily. It may be rubbing against something or it may have contaminants inside and needs to be replaced.

hi,
Check the lamp cooling fan of your projector one more time. may be its has some problem. its not running at the correct RPM. Do one thing, Remove the fan from the projector. In the fan there will be a specification sticker. Remove the sicker. now you can see a hole in the center. its the bearing part of the fan. put one drop of oil in it. u can use any type of lubricating oil. rotate the fan leafs with finger for some time. after that re-stick the spec sticker. insert the fan in the projector. power ON the projector and watch.

I replaced the lamp and the projector is make a very loud buzzing noise. How do i remedy this problem?

There may be a fan rubbing against a cable or something, but more than likely there is a vibration damper clip that has come loose off of the colorwheel and will have to be fixed by a technician.

My projector makes a really annoying noise

It is also possible that the bearing is going bad on the fan. I'd look into getting a replacement fan if that's the case. It is probably cheaper than a replacement bulb that would be needed if the fan failed entirely.

Sounds like one of those problems only cureable with expert knowledge of for example Chroma feed , Lcd function , lamp luminence, not to be a killjoy but it sounds like this is one for the engineers an estimate should be free and even if you dont have it fixed you'll know whats wrong if you want to do it yourself providing you have adequate training of course .... Fan making noise

Hi, you probably have something rubbing against the fan or a faulty fan. To investigate, you'll have to open up your projector and look at the fan.

To start the process, you'll have to remove the cover of the unit. I just opened my Sharp xr-10x DLP projector today, which had no power, no lights, no functions. A previous post worked for me...Remove the 6 screws on the bottom of the unit (you'll need a longer phillips) and the two screws on the back, toward the top of the unit. Obviously, be sure to keep these handy for reassembly (I have two curious dogs and a 4 year old to contend with). Then, to remove the housing...use a std screwdriver and slightly pry the cover off from the rear of the unit. This should losen allowing you to pivot the cover forward and then off from the projector lens. Once removed, look toward to rear of the projector...the fan is located here...it's a small unit that vents out the rear. Before removing this, check to see if there is any debris in the vent area that will be need to be removed. If you need to remove the fan, you can do so with the screws attached to the fan unit. Once this is done, you'll be able to plug the unit in and see where the noise is coming from. If it is from the fan unit itself, you'll have to order a replacement from Sharp. Just contact their service/warranty dept and tell them the make/model and they can obtain the part for you. At this point, reassemble the unit by reversing the above instructions. At least your projector should work while you await a replacement part to arrive.

Good Luck...Hope this helps you out.

NEC LT260 PROJECTOR NOISE

To open this projector, you need to undo six screws at the underside of the case. That means you have to turn the projector upsidedown.
Pls note that one of these scews is a little hidden under the carrying handle.
After removing the screws, return the projector to it's normal 'up-side' up, standing position.
Remove the bulb cover srews and remove the bulb cover.
Lift up the top cover carefully starting from the front then all together.
The cooling fan is mounted very near the bulb assembly.
Carefully check the fan blades for any obtacles, wires or even a broken fan blade, that could be causing the noise.
