Scanner Failure usually results in Hardware Failure. However there is one step you can try. Try connecting the printer directly to wall outlet or any other power outlet and the issue should be resolved.
first you have to check if the it is software problem try to tr install the software first and if the message is still showing try to unplug the power from the wall outlet also at the back of the scanner after 5 minutes plug it again. if the message is still showing then is problem with the lamp of the scanner it is mechanical problem.
I request you to remove the power cord of the printer and remove the ink cartridges from the printer and clean the contacts of the ink cartridges.
Then power off the printer and wait for 5 minutes and then reinstall the ink cartridges and then the power cord else please refer the weblink provided below on scanner failure patch.
Our HP Officejet L7780 displays the "Align Printer" message and then does it automatically wasting several sheets of paper aligning, then the next time we print a page the same message comes back. Is there a way to turn off the "align Printer" message. It is printing ok otherwise.
