Tammi, you first want to check to make sure the water inlet tube to the icemaker is not frozen shut. Next, get yourself a jumper wire about 4 inches long with the ends stripped exposing the wire on each end. Pull off the ice maker cover, it will pull right off. Now you are looking at the module. On the module, left side, you will see two test points marked V and L. Insert one end of the jumper wire into V and the other marked L. You are now sending 120 volts to the water valve and water should fill the ice maker providing the inlet tube is not frozen over. If it doesn't fill, you either have a bad water valve or module itself. Also check to see if the clips that hold the center gear on the module are not broken. Catriver..post back.

You definitely have something wrong with the ice maker if the water has turned to ice Schmerold. And the IM is not harvesting. The way it works is the IM needs 28 degrees F to harvest. If the coils below in the condenser are dirty the IM won't try to harvest. The Ice Mold thermostat is mounted on the firewall of the Ice mold in its own little cubby whole. To access it you will need to remove the head. Then remove the shell separating the Ice mold from the heads housing. There you will find the ice mold thermostat. It's only function is to get it on. If the temperature is right in the freezer. To test this precious thermostat one needs only to stick it into a freezer and let it hang out for an hour or so. Then grab it and check it for continuity. If it is open it has failed and belongs in the file 13. It is easily replaced and inexpensive.
On your model, ice maker operation is controlled by an optical sensor mounted on both sides of the freezer liner. The usual failure of this model is a bad emitter board, located in one of these recesses. You may view the service instructions for checking this sensor.

Most likely the water control valve on back of the refrigerator near floor or the thermostat inside the ice maker is defective. You can fill the ice maker with water from tap and see if it cycles one time or you can check the control valve solenoid that feeds water to the ice maker. The problem is most likely your water control valve for the ice maker. There are 2 one for ice maker and the other is for the dispenser. Fill your ice maker with tap water. Let it freeze and if it dumps and does not refill then the water control valve part number 2188542 let me know if you need more help, Sea Breeze
