if your freezer is working your fridge is fine Your problem probably started a couple weeks ago when the drain that allows defrosted ice (water) to drain into the drain pan at the base of your fridge became plugged for some reason. Then everytime the fridge went on defrost more water melted but did not drain which in turn froze. Now ice has built up and caused the air that flows into the fridge to be blocked, causing a warm fridge.... my advice is to leave fridge unplugged for 48 hrs to thaw it and find the cause of the water not to drain... could be a corn niblet or pea from the freezer... the tube should be visible from the inside or the back
The fluxating temps bottom to top and top to bottom freezing are a result of the "air damper and baffle assy" not functioning properly. I would attempt fo make my case with LG that this started while the unit was under full warranty and persists today.
You said, you recently had a problem with my Candy fridge freezer (it defrosted overnight and wasnt cooling at all) and a repair
shop diagnosed a thermostat problem. I have replaced the thermostat,
Now the freezer freezes without any problems but the fridge does not go
cold at all.
Also the compressor is running constantly
This is my first thought
Fresh Food temperature is too warm. Freezer temperature is satisfactory. 1. Fresh Food control is set too warm. 2. Set fresh food control to a colder setting. Allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize.
3.Then see if you do not have your freezer articles packed full up to the top, or covering the cold air vents usually found in the rear of the freezer compartment.
The fridge and the freezer share the cold air so the air must not be restricted from travel form the freezer to the fridge and back! This would also cause the compressor to run none stop trying to cool the fridge! So check your air vents in the freezer. I'll bet you did not know they were there ! Most of us never notice! Hope this works for you. Please let me know that one of these solutions worked for you! or if you have any questions. Thank You, huuum Please remember to leave a rating!
Hi, sorry I do not have any advice to offer. We have the same model. Three weeks ago the red light came on and freezer stopped working. Last week the fridge packed up. We may have been unlucky but I thought it might be worth mentioning incase they were related and your fridge gave up as well.
i have candy fridge freezer which the thermostat is on high setting but not cold as it should be. There is build up of ice around thermostat at the back of fridge inside. What is needed to repair?. Any ideas? Cheers!
