Check your programming to be certain both radios are programmed identical, including frequency, code, and Qt filter if any. Go back to a very basic programming with all special features turned off and see if you can communicate. If not, then one of your radios may have a problem. The only way to discern which one is to put a 3rd radio in the mix and by process of elimination determine the culprit.

FM Detector/demodulation issue. These radios have a problem in this department. I have had a few come through work that were on mine sites and no longer receive or scan. On the display it will show the signal bars fully lit as if there is a strong signal, but no RF is heard. The giveaway is being able to hear button press beeps and alike but no signal noise is ever heard.

If the unit is still under warranty send it back and have it repaired. If no longer under warranty, then it's spare parts.

You can't fix it. It takes a scanner at your Local Dealership to do it. People do it, (new battery) everyday unaware that doing so can and usually does, arm's the theft system and either kills the radio or the whole car. To me it's just another built-in defect that requires dealer assistance. It's a buzzkill I know, and it probably won't be long until car owners won't even have access to the engine compartment.

It sounds like you have scan turned on. Try turning scan off. There should be a button with scan or scn on it.

these scanners are a little hard to operate i have one of these it took me a while...Ok its because you have it on hold.when you turn your scanner on press your scan button.and your scanner should start scanning...

Well, I guess you won't be using the radio or driving after dark

because without the scan tool it won't happen.
