Question about Dell Ultrasharp 1801FP (Midnight Grey) (Gray) 18.1" LCD Monitor
The monitor will turn not turn on, tried different power cords and still no response. However when pulling off the ac power cord plug, there is a sudden flicker of the screen (~0.5sec) then the monitor remains life less.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

The monitor needs a power cord and a signal cable. The power cord is a standard 3-prong detachable cord just like the one on nearly every desktop computer and many other electronic appliances.
The signal cable may be one of two types, depending on your computer's video connector. The monitor has connectors for both VGA (a D-shaped connector with 15 pins) and DVI (a rectangular connector) inputs. You need a cable with whichever type of connector fits your computer.
You should be able to find the power cord at Radio Shack, any of the big office supply places, or retailers who sell computers. The signal cable may be available there as well, or you can order from a number of online vendors.
The monitor also allows you to plug in a USB cable from your computer so you can plug in USB devices like a keyboard or mouse. For that you need the same kind of USB cable you would use to connect a printer.
You can view or download a copy of the monitor user's guide at Dell's site here:

It’s very likely your monitor has failed. Most Dell monitors have a 3 yearwarranty, so if you got it before three years, you could get it replaced bycalling Dell. If you got the monitor with the computer, you can check yourwarranty online from with your computer Service Tag fromhttp://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/my_systems_info/details?c=us&l=en&s=gen .If you bought the monitor separately, you would need an Order Number orCustomer Number for the purchase, or you could call Dell support and they couldpull it out with your registered phone number. Dell would also need the serialnumber (starting with CN XXX..) from the back of the monitor.

Hope this helps. Please rate your feedback!

The computer repair store nearest you or tv shop should be able to provide you with the power cord. They are standard in the industry.
