Cannot find the volume setting.......have punched every button I see. (this may be the problem?)

  • mikedoud Jan 30, 2009

I can barely hear the radio when in radio mode. Have tried every combination of buttons to find volume control without luck.

I didn't mention this, but this worked fine till a few weeks ago, at which point I know that I somehow turned the volume down. Have no idea how I did it.

Well, is there any text on the player anywhere? look it over and post anything you can find.

  • Ekse Jan 28, 2009

I've contacted brookstore to get more details on your player. I'll get back to you as soon as possible, also would you happen to have a picture of the player?

  • Ekse Jan 29, 2009

Okey, thanks for that. I still haven't heard back from Brookstone. Adjusting the volume should be pretty simple, while a song is playing, try pressing the + and - button, what happens? try pressing the middle M button and see if you get to a menu and see if you can find a volume setting.

Hi I just got a reply from brookstone, asking help identifying the product in question... I've sent them some details and Hopefully they will get back to me today. but I suspect since the weekend is coming it might go over the weekend but I will defintely try to solve this as fast as possible.

    Hi

I just received the manual for your mp3 player This whole thing is sideways, I can email this to you, what is your email address?

    Adjusting the volume

PRESS M once Speaker appears on the display and a box with a line inside, is highlighted on the top of the display. Press + or - or down or up t oadjust the volume to your desired listening level.

If you are using your own earbuds or headphones you can also adjust the volume if they have a volume control.

  • Ekse Jan 30, 2009

    1. press M

    2. press + or - or down or up to adjust the volume

  • Ekse Jan 30, 2009

Got it? Are you able to adjust the volume?

Frozen Brookstone tiny tunes Mp3 player

I had nearly the same problem. My black tinytunes locked up from static electricity. Even after resetting, it would would freeze up whenever I tried accesing any menu item.

The fix can be found on the Brookstone installation CD. It's a blue, 3-inch disc with "Brookstone" on it. Put it in your computer's CD ROM and it should autoinstall the SigmaTel Audio Player. You may get prompted during installation that some files on your computer are newer than those on the disc. Choose to keep the newer files if this happens.

After the install, connect your TinyTunes to the computer. If you can, copy any files from the player on to your PC as they will be erased in the next step.

Now look for the SigmaTel MSCN Audio Player folder in your program files. Click on "Firmware Download" within. A window will pop up showing the firmware versions. Tick the "Format Data Area" box, then select "Yes" when prompted. Now hit "Start" at the bottom of the box.

At this point, a couple of blue progress bars will run for about fifteen seconds as the firmware loads. When it's finished, hit "close".

You're TinyTunes is as good as new !

Peace.
