Alternative 4-PIN 12V AC Adaptor

Hello,

I have a 12V AC power adaptor for a old Creative Inspire speaker system. The transformer has broken inside the power adaptor and would like a new one. However, Creative do no make this model any more and their support forum/technical phone support has been less than helpful. :(

I noticed on the adaptor this was made by TEAC, so I Googled it and brought me here!

Could you possibly advise if I could use a power adaptor from a different product? I found on the Creative forum's, someone had used a power adaptor from a computer monitor.

The model number on the adaptor is :

TEAC-66-124900V AC ADAPTOR

The product for which this is for is:

AC Power cable for Creative Inspire 5.1 Console 5500D

The link to the forum at Creative is:

http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=speakers&thread.id=14437

Any help much appreciated. If you require any more info please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks in advance

Regards

James Argent

I have a ScanDo 1273, pretty similar. It takes 12v DC, positive center. It took me some testing to figure this out... From what I saw inside it, it looks like anything 12v or less isn't going to break anything and it has diodes to protect for reverse polarity.

Need Adaptor connect DJ Tech Turntable to Sony Mini Hi Fi MHCRG495

The USB turntable is likely a USB data connection and not a USB audio connection, so you will need to take the audio output from your Mac G4 to your Sony Mini Hi Fi...

You will likely need a stereo mini-plug (3.5mm or 1/8-inch) to stereo RCA plug cable (red and white RCA plugs). This is often referred to as a "stereo Y-cable."

Laptop adaptor problem

Yes should be no problem if the plug will fit in the laptop. Probably won't charge the battery but seeing as it is putting out less amps I can't see it hurting anything. Have used an adaptor like that on my IBM for some time now. Calls for 4.5 amps but I only have an adaptor that puts out 3.8. Works fine just have to turn it off to charge the battery.
