Try removing the top of the dryer. You can get to a lot of the machine from this angle plus it is easier to work on.

How do I access the fin in the drum to tighten it?

You may have to disassemble your dryer to get access to the drum. Go to www.repairclinic.com and enter DLEX3360 to see a list of common replacement parts and perhaps view a general video showing the disassembly procedure.

Fin that tumbles clothing inside dryer coming loose, how can I tighten it?

These fins are usually screwed on from the outside of the drum. If you're up to it this is a simple but time consuming fix. Take the cabinet off the front of the dryer, the top will come off as well. be careful of the wires from the control console, they will stay attached to the dryer. Tighten the tumbler fins on the drum and then re-assemble the cabinet. Typically the screws you need to access are the same used for the door latch and hinges. They go back together easy ........

How do I access the drum to tighten the dryer fins

Disconnect power to the dryer !!! Remove the 2 screws holding the door hinges on and remove the 2 screws opposite the door hinges . This will let you pull the top of the front panel outward and lift off the bottom clips . If you have enough room , slide your arm thru the front opening to tighten the screws . Otherwise , remove the 2 screws holding the clips for the top , 1 on each side , and lift the top , to get better access to the screws .

KENMORE DRYER FIN LOSE. PURCHASED IN 2002. HOW CAN I FIX?

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS

You will have to remove the drum to try to repair the fin

If you have a front loading machine,

Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer.
Be REAL CAREFUL not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer.
Remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt. Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm pulley and motor.
You can now check the drum to see how the fin is attached, but also
now is a good time to check the belt condition for wear.
Be sure to note the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt.
Check your drum rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them replace them.
If the drum rollers don't have flat spots on them then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in.
I will include these two websites for parts and further help:
http://www.partselect.com/
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/index.aspx
Both also have chat assistance 24/7.
Good Luck,
I hope this helps

Dryer fins coming loose

Unplug Unit.

Refer to pages 5-2 and 5-3 of the manual below to see how to expose the drum by lifting the top of the machine. Then turn drum very slowly and only until the screw holes for the missing fins are within your reach. Most of these dryers have two sizes of fins make sure you order the right one if you need to replace them.

Good Luck

Dryer fin on model MDE7400AYW fell off.

Take the door off. Do this by first loosening the screws on the hinge.
Then loosen the screws on the left (they hold on a plastic flange-type thing) that hold the front panel on. Once it's loosened, then the door hinge will have room to wiggle out.
Once the door is off, then the front panel will swing down--and you can lift it off the flanges that hold the bottom of the door.
Now you have access to the drum and can reinstall the fin.

DRYER FIN IN DRUM IS COMING LOOSE

Unplug the dryer, remove the door hinge screws that go into the cabinet and the two screws on the opposite side of the door opening, then the front panel can be removedby starting at the top. Once the front is off, there are two screws, one to each side that hold the top on, remove these and raise the top. You can rotate the drum by hand and the baffles are held on by the screws on the outside of the drum. Reassemble in reverse order.

Red silicone glue will not hold the "fin" under operation. You will have to access the outside of the drum to reattach the fin Avoid removing the drum unless you have the equipment to re-install the bushing that holds the drum. Make sure you disconnect the power and gas.
