Question about Linksys WRT400N Router
My Mom set up our router by following the instructions awhile ago and hasn't messed with it since. I'd like to connect my Nintendo devices to the internet, but she doesn't want to decrease our internet security. Is there a way to change one of the dual connections to a WEP key, while keeping the other secure?

The WEP encryption is consist of 10 characters for 64 bit hex, 128 bit hex is 24 characters and WPA is 8 to 63 characters. So it seems that you have a vista computer? The compatible encryption for vista is WPA, sometime using WEP it is not working properly. So I might advise you to access the configuration of your router (192.168.1.1) and change the wireless settings of your router to WPA-Personal.

Well the first thing is that you have WRT160N router. This router has issues with the firmware. So first you will need to upgrade the firmware of the router. Download the firmware of the router from the manufacturer's web site. Connect your computer to the router. Open the router page. Click on Administration tab. Just below administration you will find firmware upgrade subtab. If you click on it, you will find the browse option. Browse the file that you have downloaded from the web site. and Click upgrade.
For WII, you will also need to change the MTU to 1365 and open some port numbers on the router.
