I want to create a function in access to calculate a total. Where can I find a step by step guide?

If you already have a field where you want the total to be if you right click on the field and go to properties and find out the name of the field and also the 2 or more other fields that you want to add or multiply together then you can make the total field equal to the formula ie

if you have 3 fields

Field one = value1
Field two = value2
Field total = total

in design mode you would right click on the total field and go to properties and in the properties there should be a field where you can enter a formula.

in there you would enter something along the lines of

=value1.value + value2.value

Then when you have it normal view ie you open it, it should always add the values together and put the sum of them into the total field.

If you want an example database post back and I will create one.

PDF Password Recovery 5.0 is an easy-to-use tool designed for removing asswords added to Adobe Acrobat PDF documents. It helps to decrypt protected Adobe Acrobat PDF files, which have "owner" password set, preventing the file from editing(changing), printing, selecting text and graphics(and copying them into the Clipboard), or adding/changing annotations and form fields. Pdf decrypt is being done instantly. Decrypted file can be opened in any PDF viewer without any restrictions -- i.e. with edit/copy/print functions enabled. All versions of Adobe Acrobat are supported. It also recovers document open passwords. http://www.recoverlostpassword.com/products/pdfpasswordrecovery.html

How to invoke a ms.access using parser

To parse a Text field that contains two words separated by a comma, follow these steps:
  1. Open any existing database.
  2. Create a table with the following structure: Table: Parse2Words
    ------------------
    Field Name: Empl
    Data Type: Text
  3. View the Parse2Words table in Datasheet view and type the following three records in the Empl field: Smith, John
    Callahan, Laura
    Fuller, Andrew
  4. Create the following query based on the Parse2Words table: Query: QueryTest
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
    Field: FirstName: Right$([Empl],Len([Empl])- InStr(1,[Empl],",")-1)
    Show: True
    Field: LastName: Left$([Empl],InStr(1,[Empl],",")-1)
    Show: True

    NOTE: You can modify the QueryTest query to account for spaces between the two parts in the Empl field. For example, if the text in the Empl field is "Smith,John" without spaces, remove the -1 from the FirstName field expression.
  5. Run the query. Note that the QueryTest query separates the text in the Empl field into the two fields below: FirstName LastName
    --------------------
    John Smith
    Laura Callahan
    Andrew Fuller

Private sub cmdEdit_click ( ) what is the right code to work the edit buton

You will probably want to be able to update some value of some field when doing database programming. This is done with Edit and Update. We will try to change the value of the "Phone" field by editing the text in the text box and clicking a button.
Put a command button on the form and name it "cmdUpdate". Then copy the following code to the project.
Private Sub cmdUpdate_Click()

rsMyRS.Edit
rsMyRS!Phone = txtPhone.Text
rsMyRS.Update

End Sub
Could it be that simple? Yes. This changes the phone number of our selected person. Or to put it technically: This changes the value of the "Phone" field of our current record. Imagine the current record being a set of boxes, with a field in each box. T he Edit method takes the lid off all of the boxes and Update puts them back on. When we write rsMyRS!Phone = txtPhone.Text we replace the content of the "Phone" box with the content in the text box.

Item number setup

QuickBooks is not really designed to track lot/serial numbers, but here is something that may work:

1) From the "Item List"
2) Add (or Edit) an "Inventory Part"
3) Click on the "Custom Fields" button
4) Then, Click on the "Define Field" option
4) Then, place a check-mark in the "Label" box and then type "MFG Lot #" in the "Label" field

a) Most reports will allow you to "show" this new custom field
b) Warning: Custom Fields (in QB) are merely a "text" box, so don't expect to establish "drop-downs" or filter by a specific choice, since filtering requires "exact" text match. (for example, if someone types the lot # as: "1001-9008" (with hyphen) and you search for "10019008" (without hyphen) QuickBooks will not recognize as a match, when filtering/searching the reports.

Is there a way to group text fields in acrobat pro so that when you type in the first field it wraps to the next field?

You create an article by defining a series of boxes around the content in the order in which you want the content read. The navigational path you define for an article is known as the article thread. You create a thread connecting the various boxes, unifying them into a continuous text flow.
  1. Choose Tools > Advanced Editing > Article Tool, or select the Article tool on the Advanced Editing toolbar. The pointer appears as a cross-hair pointer in the document window.
  2. Drag a rectangle to define the first article box. An article box appears around the enclosed text, and the pointer changes to the article pointer. Each article box you create has a label that consists of the article number and its sequence within the article. For example, the first box for the first article is labeled 1-1, the second box 1-2, and so on. The boxes for the second article in the same document are labeled 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, and so on.
  3. Go to the next part of the document you want to include in the article, and draw a rectangle around that text. Repeat until you have defined the entire article. Note: To resize or move an article box, you must first end the article.
  4. To end the article, press Enter or Return.
  5. In the Article Properties dialog box, enter the article title, subject, author, and any keywords to describe the article, and click OK.

    if(email.indexOf("@",0)<0) ErrorMessage = "Enter valid email";
    if(email.indexOf(".",0)<0) ErrorMessage = "Enter valid email";

    // build message string
    message = "mailto:support@selteco.com?subject=Title&body=Form contents%0A";

    message = message + "email: " + email;

    // execute form if errormessage is empty
    if(ErrorMessage=="") getURL(message,"_self");

Hit F9 to preview. The form will not work until you export Flash file and HTML page. Choose "File" > "Export HTML Page" to create HTML page and test the form in a browser. This form is using very basic validation. Use "%0A" as line separator.
Use the following functions or attributes of the string:
  • length returns the number of characters
  • charAt(x) returns zero-based character at position x
  • indexOf(substring,startindex) returns the position of the first occurrence of the specified substring or -1.
  • lastIndexOf(substring,startindex) returns the position of the last occurrence of the specified substring or -1.
  • substr(start,n) returns n characters string starting at specified position
  • toLowerCase(), toUpperCase() converts the string to lower or upper case
