Intermittent sound from the Pioneer Head unit

I just bought a Nissan Pathfinder and this unit came with it. It worked fine for couple of days and then I tried to pair my HTC phone with bluetooth pairing and play songs on the unit. It worked fine until I switched off the car. Once I switched it back on, the sound wont come from the speakers. It shows that the CD, FM, AM, Bluetooth is working but still no sound comes. Then I try to do some trouble shooting by disabling bluetooth and coincidently the sound started working. Next time also it happened and no sound was coming then even after enabling disabling bluetooth nothing happened. Then suddenly after 10-15 mins of driving sound turned up. I checked the wiring and everything is perfect, it has to do something with my bluetooth pairing as it all started after that. I also noticed that now CD track information is also blank --- 3 dashes that shows up for each track of the CD. Earlier CD was showing name of the tracks. Even FM and AM dont show any information on the channel playing. Please help as Pioneer technical help is unable to help me as they never heard of this issue before. They are asking me to ship the unit to them which I hate to do. Please help.

SOURCE: Pioneer AVIC-D3 Audio Problems

Sounds like a problem with the sound chip in the stereo. Disconnect the rca cables from the subs and check to see if the audio returns. If so. try using a different rca connection in the back. Also i think on them radio's if there is a built in sub drive you need to turn that off if you are using a amp to run the subs.

I have a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder too and it does the same problem when you push the locks down it sounds like a relay in the back of the Vehicle and when the weather is cold they work fine, finally found that the lock of the hatch is bad and this is causing the problem all the locks should to be closed in order to automatically lock or unlock, just clean it up and put oil, it worked for me.

Check the bulbs for burnt filaments. Take a multimeter and test your feeds and grounds at each socket. Possible multifunction switch failure. The switch that works your head and tail lamps.

Dashboard and tail lights out on 97" Nissan Sentra

I took my pathfinder to U-HAUL and asked them to check the towing lights. There was a pinched wire by my tail light and they cut it and changed it out for me, it was $5. I am so glad that I didnt take it to Nissan. My second step was going to be getting a new dimmer switch..but the guy who worked on my car said that wouldnt be the problem. He also told me that replacing a fuse that kept blowing out was dangerous and after the first time to get it checked out. Learn something new every day!!

INTERMITTENT POWER PROBLEMS

Sounds like you have intermittent contact between the constant 12v and the ACC 12v power inputs. Remove the head unit, and make sure that the connections are properly insulated. (using inline **** connectors preferably)
