Question about Hitachi 65S500 65" HDTV-Ready Rear Projection Television
I own this projection TV but it turns off randomly and won't turn back on until after 10minutes to 1 day. It does this randomly and the time to turn back on depends as well. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with this TV?
Overheating causes a power failure by design. Temp limiters are doing there job at least, they might be. Setup the TV so you can access the rear immediately. Then watch TV until it turns off by itself. Unplug the TV. Cool down one area of the projector electronics using a dry air dust cleaner cans. Plug and test. Repeat. Once the TV turns on quickly wait until it overheats again and re-cool the last item you checked, you've possibly found the overheating electronic device. Then you can order a replacement or buy someone els's TV and scrap out the part. Or let the pros do it.

Remove the rear cover & turn set on, pull all the connectors off one at a time and push back on. I have had loose connectors cause this problem, and by doing the above has fixed it. Note do the pull off and push back on of the connectors, with the tv unplugged from the AC outlet.
