Usually not the float. there is a needle attached to the float that slides up a small hole and against a rubber seat. the seat over time becomes sticky and sticks the needle up and in place blocking the main fuel entrance. you can pick up a rebuild kit from you local small engine shop. you will need the 5 digit model number located on a sticker by the wheel axle....

I have a toro z150 zero turn lawnmower.. I can put gas in the carb and it will fire but will shut back off as soon as its burnt.. I took a air hose to all of the lines and getting gas past filter.

That is not a simple answer, You would need to continue the cleaning into the carburetor. Make sure your float and needle valve are not stuck. pull the bowl off the carb to see if any gas is in the bowl. if not the chances are that the float is stuck.

Probably your Carburetor float seal is leaking inside. Have someone check your Carb.

Lawnmower carburetor problem.

Remove carb float bowl. Check float operation. Float down gas flow, float up no gas flow. Clean float bowl. Observe bowl screw, see if there is a hole or holes thru the screw. Clean out with thin wire, bread wrapper works peeled back about an inch. Use wire to clean out center port of carb. Remove mounting pin of float, remove float and meter needle, clean out port up thru carb with wire. Reassemble try to start. Prime at least 3 times, ensure primer bulb is not cracked, replace if cracked. Replace air filter if dirty. Replace spark plug once a year. Fill oil. 30w. Mowers now have a low oil cutoff.

Carburetor not getting gas to go threw it

Chances are the float needle is stuck closed. Remove the float bowl and spray carb cleaner at the float pin while gently lifting the float then releasing the float to drop freely. Do this several times until the gas starts to flow when the float drops downward. Check also that the gas is turned on and gas is in the tank. tombones49_12.gif

Riding lawn mower keeps flooding

It sounds like the inlet needle seat is not closing all the way, allowing fuel to overfill the carburetor. The inlet needle seat may have dirt in it.You will have to remove the carburetor bowl and check for dirt or debris in bowl,if so remove the float assembly and check for a peice of dirt between the inlet needle and seat.If there is none you may have to replace the carburetor or rebuild it with a carburetor kit.You should also chang the engine oil because the overfilled carburetor drains to the crankcase, filling it with fuel, check the oil level and see if it is high, that would indicate fuel is in the oil.Hope this helps

I am not getting fuel to the carb. I have taken bolt out of bottom of bowl and there is no fuel coming out. I am getting gas at the end of gas line that is hooked to carb. Any advice?

Sounds like needle is stuck. Remove the bowl and see if float is hanging down or staying level. Needle is at top of float. There is a pin holding float to carburetor. Remove the float before trying to dislodge the needle.

Gas runs out of from carburetor

if you suspect the float is stuck, grab a screwdriver and tap the carb float bowl with the handle. you should be able to see this from the bottom of the tank. hopefully this will unstick the float.

if it doesn't, then it will require removing the carb and taking the float bowl off and seeing if the float is adjusted properly.
