X-rite ats color scanner error

Error states that the lamp inside the head needs to be checked, but x-rite will not service these instrumants anymore.

To clear the message, you need to disconnect the Brother machine from the power outlet to check the machine. Follow the steps listed below: Check for foreign objects, such as a paper clip or scrap of paper, inside the machine. Disconnect the machine from the power outlet and open the scanner cover by pulling up on the lower right corner of the cover. Look inside the machine and remove any foreign objects. If you see jammed paper or another item inside this area, gently pull it out and then close the scanner cover securely. If the error continues to appear, move the print head and examine under the print head. NOTE : The images shown below are from the representative product and may differ from your Brother machine. 2-1.Disconnect the Brother machine from the poweroutlet. 2-2.Open the scanner cover by pulling up on the lower right corner of the cover. 2-3.Check the print head's position. In the example photo the print head is positioned at the left hand side of the platen area. 2-4.Gently move the print head to the center. Caution Be careful not to force the print head to move. Solution one: Check the scanner light Make a color copy of any document by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the product control panel. While the product is making the copy, lift the scanner lid slightly to see if the scanner light is visible. CAUTION: Do not look directly at the light. It is not necessary to completely open the lid to see the light.
  • If the scanner mechanism moves across the scan bed, but the light is not lit, proceed to Solution six: Service the product .
  • If the light is lit, proceed to the next solution.
Solution two: Check operating conditions Extreme temperatures can affect the operation of the product. Make sure the operating conditions match those recommended in the User Guide provided with the product. Solution three: Check the power connections
  1. Make sure that the part number on the power supply matches the part number listed in the User Guide .
  2. Disconnect the power cord from any power strips or surge suppressors, and then plug it directly into a wall outlet.
  3. Try making a color copy by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the product control panel.
    • If the copy job is successful, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
      NOTE: Power strips and surge suppressors can sometimes prevent enough voltage from reaching the product.
  4. If the error message displays again, temporarily move the product to a different room, or plug the power cord into a different wall outlet.
  5. Try making a color copy by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the product control panel.
    • If the copy job is successful, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
    • If the error message displays again, proceed to the next solution.
Solution four: Perform a power cycle
  1. Turn the product off.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the product.
  3. Wait 30 seconds, and then connect the power cord to the product.
  4. Turn the product on.
  5. Make a color copy by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the control panel.
  • If the copy job is successful, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the error message displays again, proceed to the next solution.
Solution five: Reset the productFollow these steps to reset the product. Step one: Perform a partial reset
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the product.
  2. Press and hold # and 3 while reconnecting the power cord to the product, and then release both buttons.
  3. Try making a color copy by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the product control panel.
    • If the partial reset resolves the issue, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
    • If the error message displays again, proceed to the next step to try a semi-full reset.
Step two: Perform a semi-full reset CAUTION: Performing a semi-full reset deletes any saved phone numbers on the product.
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the product.
  2. Press and hold # and 6 while reconnecting the power cord to the product, and then release both buttons.
  3. Try making a color copy by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the product control panel.
    • If the semi-full reset resolves the issue, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
    • If the error message displays again, proceed to the next solution.
Solution six: Service the product If you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service the product.

5.Click the Advanced Mode tab.
6.Make sure Select Source is set to "Platen".
7.Click the Preview button at the top left.
If the error still occurs, then most likely it will be a service issue.

One thing to check...see if the inside lamp illuminates when you turn the scanner on using the power button at the back left side of the scanner. If you get no light, then as mentioned before, then it will most likely be a service error.

Fi-4120c2 error Code


Hi,

The scanner does self-diagnostic when receiving Read Command (to start scanning) and displays the result if any error or alarm is detected.

Error code-E3 in Fi-4120c2 scanner means "Light intensity check" . When this error is displayed on the scanner panel, TWAIN displays the following error-

" Irregular status is detected in scanner. If this status recurs after power cycling, please give following Sense key and ASC code to your service provider.
If ASC code is the following, please confirm following status before power cycling’
- When ASC=0x580, confirm if the shipping lock (if any) is set at “Release” position.
- When ASC=0x680, clean the sheet guide (white part) in ADF.
(Error Code DS42001)

E3 explains Optical alarm (back). This alarm occurs if the gain adjustment of the CCD amplifier does not succeed at a READ command for the first document, or during scanning.

Probable causes:
- The lamp, the optical system or white sheet guide is dirty.
- Defective lamp or CCD.
- Connector disconnected

To check and resolve the issue, lease follow the steps provided below:

1. Is sheet guide (white part) in the reading position dirty?
#Open the ADF and clean the sheet guide (white part) and the glass.
2. Is the lamp ON?
3. Are the cables damaged?
4. Are the connectors connected correctly?
#Disconnect SCSI cable and turn the scanner ON. Open the ADF and press Cover open sensor to see if the lamp lights. If not, the error is caused by the defective lamp.
5. Is the optical unit dirty?
6. Are the cables damaged?
7. Are the connectors connected correctly?
# Check and Clean (ADF back):
# Check if inside of the grass for Upper unit ASSY is dirty. Clean inside of the glass of the dust cover.
9. If the issue still persists, then you may have to replace Optical unit.

Problem with an CanoScan 8400F, just started 2 days ago. I have tried all the usual things pwr off, usb, uninstalled driver, downloaded latest, get the same error each time. Code: 2,178,0. I even hooked...

One thing to check...see if the inside lamp illuminates when you turn the scanner on using the power button at the back left side of the scanner. If you get no light, then as mentioned before, then it will most likely be a service error.

I work on the fujitsu scanner hotline. This message means that the optical unit needs to be replaced, there will be very little you can do to fix this problem.

If the unit is in warranty, get Epson out to it. If not check the simple things like making sure the head lock is not on. Look to see if the scanner head starts to move at all when you power up the unit. If the head does not move at all or makes an unusual noise, chances are the unit is complaining that the head is stuck or requires too much effort to move it. Other possibilities include a communication error between scanner and main board of the SPC or SPC and your computer - indicates broken connection or bad USB cable. POssibly a fault with the mainboard of the SPC itself. Error ?Cause *Remedy Scanner error ? Lamp has burnt out. * Replace the scanner lamp. ? Power is turned on without unlocking the scanner. * Unlock the CR. ? The scanner carriage is interfering with any other part. * Remove the obstacle. * Replace the scanner carriage unit.
