Sounds like the heating element of the dryer may have come loose and is shorting against the metal dryer box on top of the drum.

Hotpoint WD440 washer/dryer wont control.when plugged in 4 lights flash and it goes to pump out . no switch has any effect. the lights flashing are the on/off ,drying high heat.reduced creases and time...

The NTC for the dryer is situated on top of the dryer heater box, fault can often be caused by a simple broken wire, they are very weak at this point.

its the sensor on the dryer

if you take off the top, its mounted on top of the dryer box, usually has a white plug with 2 black wires attached

I keep blowing my fuse

if the fuse is the right load for this dryer but keeps blowing then there is a sever fault in the dryer this could be in the wiring loom or more likely in the motor the dryer is pulling far to many amps and the fuse should then blow to protect the house wiring from catching "fire!"
yes i did say "fire!" so dont try up-rateing the fuse,,,,thats asking for it!
i would not use this dryer till you have it looked at,,,you will be risking a dryer or house fire if you do,,,

Common faults -
1 The heating elements can fail(meaning open circuit)
2 There are cut-outs (T.O.C's) thatmight need resetting
3 The thermostats (stats) can tripout or burn out (meaning opencircuit)
4 Moderntumble dryers also have sensors and pcb's (Printed circuitboards) thesehaveprograms that can fail and circuitry although most should produce an errorcodeshowing you were the fault is.
5 Faultyconnections and burned wires may also bethe fault.

it sounds like you have a direct short in the wiring some where on your machine.the only other option is the main control board needs to be replaced

Hotpoint washer dryer lights flashing

Check first the thermal fuse.

Test heating element to ensure is not grounded, and staying always on. Test the fan and ventilation system.

If you find no fault in there , then test the timer control board.

I had to have a tech come out for the same problem two weeks ago. They had to clean the lint collector which you cannot get to on your own. He said now that this has been done everytime I use the machine, take the clothes out and then run a rinse spin cycle.
