Question about Washing Machines

Open Question

I have a Mira Flight Shower tray which does not disperse the water. How can I remove the waste cover from the Domed Top Access Wate Trap before I unscrew and remove the inner filter?

I have removed the centre from the waste cover and can see threads into the trap for unscrewing - however I still need to lift off the chrome waste cover from the tray - how is this done?

SOURCE: Miele leak when switched on for wash, from filter unit front LHS bottom of machince

You can replace the Bellows as it is called but to fix it before you replace it clean it with Bleach to kill the mold and then dry it ALSO after any load you do leave the door open a bit this allows the mach to air dry out and prevents the build up of mold ..Good Luck plz rate this post for me

SOURCE: Leak

It leaksYour washer can develop several types of leaks. You can track down a leak based on when it occurs:

During fill only
During drain and spin only
All the time

During fill only
If the washer leaks only during the fill cycle, check these:

Air-gap device -The air gap is a small device found on most washers that prevents the wash water from being siphoned into the household water supply. It's located either mid-way along or at the end of the black rubber hose that comes from the water-inlet valve. Often it's made of translucent plastic. If one of the air-gap components deforms or cracks, you may need to replace it.

The tube -There's a rubber tube that runs between the water-inlet valve and either the air-gap or the inlet spout. If it cracks or breaks, it can cause a leak.

Inlet spout -Most washers have a plastic spout near the top of the main clothes tub that directs the water into the tub. If the spout cracks or breaks free of its mounting, it can cause a leak.

During drain and spin only
A washer that leaks only during the spin cycle often has a leak in the main drain hose. Inspect the entire hose and correct any problem you find. Alternatively, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. This may be most visible during large loads and high water levels. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make. Consult a qualified appliance repair technician for further details.

All the time
If the washer leaks all the time, check these:

Hot and cold water fill hoses - Check the hot and cold water hoses from the household plumbing. If either hose is leaking, tighten it or replace it, as appropriate.

Main tub seal - The main tub seal is located between the transmission and the outer tub. It's the primary water seal in the outer tub for the transmission-shaft entry point. If this seal leaks, you can see the leak by opening up the machine's main access panel while the machine is full of water with a small amount of detergent in it. The leak appears at the underside of the outer tub, at or near the center. This seal is difficult to replace. You probably should call a qualified appliance repair technician.

Pump - If the pump leaks, you can probably spot the leak when the tub is full of water. The pump has two or more black rubber or plastic hoses attached to it and usually has a drive belt that spins the pump. If the pump is leaking, you need to replace it.

Outer tub - Over time, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make. Consult a qualified appliance repair technician for further details.

How to take reel apart to reload line

Hi Karen:
If this is a fishing reel, pull off the old line into a plastic bag or wind it on to an old spool so it can be safely discarded. Tie the new line on to the reel, and wind the new line on.
There used to be a closed face spinning reel that you would unscrew the face cover to access the spool.

If this is a weed eater, grass whip, some of the older units had a threaded centre with a left hand thread. Once unscrewed, the spool lifted off and you could wind on the new cutting cord.

Happy fishing, or gardening.

How do i remove the loose change trapped under the agitator ?

you'll need to remove the agitator to do that usually. fairly easy to do. the centre piece at the top unscrews (very often it will require you turning it the opposite way you would normally untighten something) remove that then lift it up. there is one other way but you need to be very lucky. some coins will react to a magnet. you may be able to get them out that way tho the whole basin is metal so not as likely.

Removing bath drain

There are two types of tub drain stoppers for the delta brand - lift & turn and toe tap.

Lift and Turn:
The lift & turn stopper for the bathtub unscrews counterclockwise while in the full up position.

Toe Tap:
The toe tap stopper does also but if the cap may unscrew from it before the entire stopper comes out. In that case, there is a nut that is now exposed and can be accessed to unscrew the assembly.

If either of these is "spinning" without unscrewing, the threads are stripped and you would need to exert upward pressure while unscrewing in hopes of uncoupling this from the bath waste. If that doesn't work you would have to unscrew the bath waste flange from the drain pipe.
This will require access under the tub. I hope this answer the question for you. Thank you for using FIXYA. Jeff

You will have to change out the waste and overflow. This is not a hard job, unscrew drain from tub, remove overflow plate and disconnect from p-trap. Go to local home improvement store and buy a new waste and overflow kit, many to choose from. Reinstall .

How does it come apart for cleaning

The hot water did work for mine. Here is the solution I discovered:

After removing the food plunger and juicer cover: (1) Unscrew the 3 screws that hold the cutting blade plate in the center of the basket and lift off the cutting blade plate; (2) Unscrew the base counterclockwise (it will unscrew from the threaded center piece) and lift it up; (3) Lift off the basket and juice bowl. Now you can clean the basket and juice bowl.

To reassemble, reverse the process.

Ryobi lawn hornet wont start....continually

Hi Tamcoff - If its the same model as mine (and you can't always rely on the Parts Cattledog!!):

- to remove the bell housing; twist off the spring and using a T20 torx screwdriver unscrew the retaining screw in the centre of the housing (normal RH thread)
- place a large screwdriver in the slots of the cover to jam the impeller and using a copper drift (or similar) and hammer, tap sharply the in one of the clutch recesses (one of mine hasd 'OUT' embossed in it) unscrew the clutch from the drive shaft (normal RH thread)

Cheers,
Bob
