Dell inspiron m5030 freezes and screen goes black

My pc will randomly freeze and then the screen goes black. Happens randomly if I am surfing the net, just working in a microsoft office file, etc. Power will still be on but I will have to manually shut down the computer with the power button and turn back on again.

This is a motherboard and power supply issue - you most likely cannot fix it yourself. I have attached a link where someone got their system back up temporarily, but it won't last. You need to replace the motherboard ASAP.

IMAC SCREEN FREEZES OR GOES BLACK.

same thing happens to me - most of the time it will just randomly freeze; occasionally i get an unresponsive black screen. this 24' aluminum imac usually has startup problems also - sometimes it will "gong" and nothing else; sometimes the apple logo will come up and then nothing else; sometimes it will load the logo and then spin for a few seconds and then freeze - the only option is to manually shut down. there is no rhyme or reason to it

1501 freeze randomly. put it on cool stand to eliminate overheating, still freezes ie: goes black and has a 1 inch square color lined area.

if you can take out the hard drive
would it still do the same thing
if the hard drive is over 5 years old
chances are you need to replace,
also system restore set back to when it worked good, and reinstall windows before buying new hard drive

I have a dell inspiron 6000 the screen goes black

the lcd screen may be causing this. Try to connect the laptop to an external monitor and have both working at the same time by toggling Fn F8 on the keyboard. Wait until it goes black on the LCD. post back what happens. If the external monitor wont go out when the lcd does, the lcd may have to be replaced. If the monitor goes out too, it's a video card issue which may be resolved by reinstalling the driver.
