Question about Dell Optiplex GX60 PC Desktop

Can't find a display driver for dell optiplex gx60 windows 7 32 bit

I updated the system from XP to 7. All seems well except the resolution drop-down is grayed out and stuck on 640 x 480. Dell's website doesn't have the driver in question and I've been unable to track one down on the Internet.

The drivers aren't on the Dell site; they don't have Windows 7 as an option for the Optiplex GX60. Chad, great tips, I think it's likely an Intel but they as well do not have a driver for Windows 7. I'm pretty sure I'm trying to fit a square peg in a round hole at this point; system requirement issue. Thanks for your help.

One of these three sites should have your drivers. It depends on if the graphics processor is Nvidia, AMD, or Intel.

Reinstalled Windows XP on an old computer (DELL Dimension 2400) and the monitor won't display above basic resolution. Downloaded and reinstalled the monitor driver and still no good. Opened up START

According to the Dell Support web site the Dell Dimension 2400 has a built in Intel 3D extreme graphics adapter, assuming you are using this and not a PCI graphics card.

Go to the Intel Download Centre and run their Intel Driver Update Utility which will automatically scan your system for updated drivers for any installed or integrated Intel devices.

If the Intel Utility identifies an updated driver for your graphics adapter then download and install that which should enable you to configure a higher resolution for your display.

I can't change my screen resolution, or change to 32bit colour since i installed Vista onto my dell optiplex gx60

This is because  you haven't installed the drivers. Unfortunately for you your chipset is an antiquity that wasn't supported even on Vista. Your only hope is to install its XP drivers, they will give you basic functionality and nothing more.

Hi,
You should enable sound in BIOS, and then load the drivers for the sound chip. Drivers located on install cd or at Dell website.

Install Vista of Pc

You can be sure by downloading the free Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor Tool from Microsoft.com. Once installed it will scan your system & let you know if your system can be upgraded to vista, which versions are available & if you need additional drivers. If you do need drivers you can find them at dell.com under the support section. All you will need is your model # or your Dell Service Tag #. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

Lost resolution windows vista upgrade on GX260

Hi all,

I tried numerous solutions for this issue and none of them worked except this one. I tested it with Vista Ultimate and don’t know if other Vista versions have the same drivers but here’s what worked for me:

1. Right click ‘Computer’ then left click ‘Properties’ to open up System window.
2. Click ‘Device Manager’
3. Click ‘+’ on ‘Display Adapters’ and you should see the drivers for your video. Right click and select ‘Update Driver Software...’
4. Select ‘Browse my computer for driver software’ and click ‘next’.
5. Click ‘Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer’
6. Untick ‘Show compatible hardware’
7. Select ‘Intel Corporation’ then select ‘Intel 82865G’. Click next.

This will install the drivers. No they are not the same drivers for the hardware but they work a treat!
