Question about Rancilio Silvia Espresso Machine

Open Question

Rancilio Silvia keep resetting

I have been using the Rancilio Silvia for almost 5 years now, it has been working fine until now. When I turn on the machine, the boiler heats up and when I start brewing, the safety button of the thermostat goes off, and I have to reset it each time. What part went wrong? is there any fix to that? thanks

SOURCE: UPDATE on

If there is not a red pin on the top of the thermostats, then the easiest way to tell which one is bad is with an ohms meter or just replace both.

Check the shower screen to make sure it is not damaged. Then try this get coffee ground from the store at #2, 3, 4 and 5 at least 1/4 pound each then use that to figure out what setting works best for your machine, also note the tamping pressure. Fill portafilter to rim then tamp to fill ring in basket.
