Question about HEWLETT-PACKARD HP EliteBook 8440p Notebook
Windows XP OS. I have updated BIOS. still shuts down
Make sure that it is not overheating. I know that notebooks will sometimes shut down if they do not have the proper amount of ventilation. You might try letting it cool down and then propping it up on a small block or box so that air can freely move under it to help cool it. Hope this helps. The other possible causes are a bad battery or power jack connection. Another thing that it might be is bad ram. I have seen all three of these issues cause a notebook computer or tablet to intermittently shutdown. Hope this helps.
