Thank you for your answer Ramesh,

I tried to reinstall the drivers but i cant find the device in the mouse and other pointing devices section. Is the touchpad burned out ?

The first thing what u can try is that try and uninstall and rsintall the touchpaddrivers and then restart the comuter and then u cna try and try and work on the touchpad and the stil it doesnt work then what u can do is if it is less then a week then u can do the system restore back to an earlier date beore a week when the touchpad was working fine and then what also u can try is that u can try and chekcit out in the safe mode.....good luck....

Driver updates

Go to the Acer WEB site to download the LAN drivers you need, make sure it is Windows XP version for your particular MODEL laptop.

Use this link :-

After you install the drivers and if the sound problems still occur then list the error messages etc. then will advise further.

Touchpad dead, keyboard erratic

Go to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager, then look down the list for mice and pointing devices, click the '+' sign and right click on your touchpad and select uninstall, do the same on the keyboard line and then restart the pc.

Both touchpad and keyboard will be reinstalled and then ready to use again as it should be back to normal

It can be possible if you don't install the correct motherboard drivers in your system, but if you have install the correct Drivers by using your product Service tag No. or Product key No. then it is a Hardware connectivity problem and you have to take it to a hardware repaire shop.
