My laptop is working fine, However the touchpad won't work at all. it will allow me to plug in a mouse but the cursa will not move. What do I do?

Hi. Try reinstalling the touchpad driver of yor computer. For some computers you need to Press Fn + F6 key to enable/disable the touchpad. If this problem occurs recently then you can restore the computer back to the date from where you remember that the computer is working fine. You may use system restore. Click start then all programs then click accessories then click system tools then system restore.

Compaq Presario CQ50 + over sensitive touch pad

Try the mouse settings in the control panel, also try uninstall any touchpad software and remove any touchpad software from running when the pc boots.
To do this either type msconfig into the run/search box or a program like cc cleaner under tools/startup

The touchpad does not work anymore. I have to

Try and go to manufactures website go to support section and try and get your drivers for touchpad. If that don't work it's possibly connection on the tape that connects it to the mother board somewhere or whole touchpad circuit board which wouldn't be good. If trick with drivers don't work and you are not willing to take laptop apart you will need a service men to deal with it. Thnaks and good luck

My Dell touchpad on my Vostro 1520 wont zoom or scroll anymore. The control panel icon with dell touchpad just went and dissappeared

best thing to do is buy a wireless usb mouse and hook it up otherwise will be a 100 fix at least. Try opening the touch pad screen on the tool bar and adjust it to work again.

Can't "tap" on my Dell touchpad

I had the same problem after purchasing an HP laptop with a Synaptics TouchPad. After using a wireless mouse for awhile, the TouchPad stopped working. The TouchPad light was white, indicating it was enabled. No TouchPad devices was listed anymore in the Mouse Properties in the Control Panel. I tried reloading the driver but nothing changed.

After shutting down the laptop and removing the battery (according to owner’s manual) it worked again. After turning on the laptop, make sure the TouchPad works. Then go to Control Panel, Mouse, Device Settings tab, and make sure a Synaptics TouchPad is listed in the Devices list and that the Enable button is grayed out.

Touchpad stopped working arrow still works

sounds like you need to adjust the sensitivity, as you can customize this to prevent accidental double taps.

you should have some software to configure your touchpad, this will either be from the manufacturer or you can use the "mouse settings" in control panel.
