Siemens extractor

Hi Peekay,

Siemens Extractor is not a two way radio, so you need to post your query on the Office equipment forum.

Cheers,

Hi, my kitchen extractor fan seems to be blowing the smells back into the kitchen and not out, it sounds like it it working ok and the fan is going round.

Hello,
Check the ducting outlet is not blocked on the outside wall or if it is ducted up through a ceiling then remove the hose fron the unit and check for blockages. With the hose off run fan to see that it is indeed blowing the air correctly. The other things to check are the filters.
Hope this helps.

Hi. How can I tell if the charcoal filters in my Smeg cooker hood need replacing? They cost £80 so I don't want to replace them unecessarily.

Hello,

Firstly operate extractor normally, hold a piece of A4 paper on the underside of fan and see how it holds it on the different speeds. Then if you can remove the charcoal filters then operate as before and compare the difference between the suction, this should tell you if it is the charcoal filters or a blockage in the pipe.

Hope this helps

We would like to replace or clean the fan filter

This is a charcoal filter and cannot be cleaned out. If your extractor is no longer working efficiently then you should replace the charcoal filter/s.

My Bathroom Extractor Fan does not work properly and for some reason the bathroom smells of cigarette smoke when the upstairs neighbours are at home!! Our landlord say's this is not possible!!!

Yes, very possible!. The bathroom fan is connected together, and the upstairs one is down-drafting to you. Have the exhaust checked for blockage, or buy a fan that has a built-in damper that closes the exit when not in use.

My extractor fan is leaking a lot of water, it is nothing to do with the weather as it happens when it is not raining. The extractor fan was working but now has stopped

sounds like
the extractor is mounted in a cold space, and the moist air is condensing on the cold fan as it exits,
the fan housing may need better insulation, and the flap valve in the exhaust pipe needs to be checked to ensure it is closing, and keeping cold air out
it is possible that condensate in the fan has fried the motor

something to check

Wireing a bathroom extractor fan to a three switch (fan=landing light=offswitch0

yes, if the three switches are all made together, then there is only one feed. sounds like a bad switch, or possibly bad exhaust fan. check voltage at fan with switch on, if not qualified, be careful, or call an electrician
