Oil leaking at the inlet valve.

Have a up6 30 Ingersoll Rand. oil leaking at the inlet valve. replace inlet valve, still leaking

Remove it and try a NAPA auto parts store. If they can't help I'd try Graingers.

Hi,
Start with the simple things first... had a fellow a couple of montha ago that did not realize that there is an air filter....cleaned that and the air compressor worked great a again....
So... check your air filter...
Also does that model have oil in the crankcase??? is so check that you are part way up in the site glass with oil...if the unit has been used heavily, has the oil every been drained and changed???
This could contribute to rings getting sticky and hanging up...
If none of these things work then start going deeper into things...

Did you replace the separator filter located inside the separator. If not replace it. If it was replaced check the scavenge line and orifice. make sure they both are open. Also make sure the orifice is orientated correctly. If you look at the orifice closely it should have an arrow etched into the side. the arrow points toward the air end.If this is an ESP unit they gave alot of problems and expensive to repair. Oil coming out of the air filter is often caused by the minimum pressure check valve leaking by or just not closing at all. I would suggest dis-assembly of the MPCV to see if it is leaking or possibly stuck open. If the above does'nt take care of the problem and this is an ESP please forward the model and serial # and will try to see what else I can find.

you need to recalibrate the stepper motor on the inlet valve which only a ingersoll rand tech can perform cause it is kind of tricky .and if that doesn't fix it it could be just a simple adjustment or a bad stepper motor or a broken inlet valve arm or worse a bad control board good luck.

I have an Ingersoll Rand EP30 air compressor which has emptied its coolant out of the air inlet onto the floor. What are the probably causes and their remedy?


The unit was not turned off correctly or it shut itself down due to high temp or other problem what happens is that when the compressor is loaded (producing air) the inlet valve is open which if shutdown the pressure withing the compressor will escape through this open inlet valve which will contain oil also

Have a Ingersoll Rand 2135 ti impact wrench with a trigger that sticks in. Don"t know if it needs a spring in the trigger part or if there is another problem. Took it apart and cleaned it and oiled...


i have the same problem, and a fellow co-worker of mine told me about the problem. here it is.. on the handle there are two slots on either side, push them in and the air inlet assembly should pop out along with a broken tiny metal rod.. this rod connects to the inlet valve and turns on and off ur impact wrench.. i have been looking for replacement parts but cant find any.. hope this helps you and maybe help me too..

Ingersoll Rand likes you to buy their all season select oil for their air compressors, most piston air compressors use an R+O 100 oil it is equivalent to n SAE 30 wt oil.

What is the solution when a ingersoll rand compressor model EP 25 is turn off and then this one made leave out the oil through of the inlet valve ?


Depends on the inlet valve of your air compressor, if it is a total closure type ( flat plate that closes completely) it is either a failure of the inlet valve seals or the control solenoid or other valve that controls the inlet valve.

If it uses a butterfly type inlet valve it is one of 2 things,,,, first if is spun slow after shut down and just oil was lost, the oil stop valve failed to close, if it spun fast and a combination of oil and air was discharged it was a stuck open air end discharge valve.

hi there,
well,if your air compressor was shut off this due to pressure switch w/c auto switch off your compressor,the pressure switch acquired already the cut off pressure.if the pressure goes down the cut in set up reached it will start your compressor
to run.
regarding oil spillage when shutting down check the oil level on the sight glass of crankcase
a red line indicate oil should not exceed on that level line,if the oil exceed try to drain oil.,on the side bottom of engine there is a drain plug.until on limit level .,besure that machine is shut off/breaker is off.have a nice day don't forget to rate me,thank's

Ingersoll rand compressor oil leak (Model DD2T2, 4.5 Gal.)


The brass fitting that goes into my DD2T2 seems to have a hole in it and it looks impossible to remove without ruining a major gasket due to the close tolerance in replacing the fitting. Am I missing something?
