The brush roller is not going round

Sounds like the roller drive belt is either off or broken. Easy to replace with a screwdriver.

Drive brushes not going round- sucks O.K

Hello Les,

Your brush roller is probably bad ( the roller that is driven by the belt). The bearings go bad over time and then cease. Typically the belt will break when the roller bearings cease so both will probably need to be replaced but both parts should be less than $20.00 total. Check the exploded diagram in your manual for the brush roller and belt part numbers.

The brush bar isn't going round ?

your problem seems to be the belt has snapped. Underneath the the hover there is a rubber belt that connects around the brush bar and around the motor, this belt will be broken. They can purchased from any hoover shop for a couple of pounds.

The belt that drives the roller may have broken and reqiures replacement. You need to take the cover off underneath and remove the roller.

Roller brush not spinning?

THIS GEEN LIGHT MEANS THAT THE BELT HAS COME OFF. THE REPLACEMENT IS AS FOLLOWS: FLIP THE BRUSH (RUG RENOVATOR) OVER AND REMOVE THE SCREWS ON THE SILVER GUARD THAT KEEPS THE ROLLER IN PLACE. SLIDE THE ROLLER UP OUT OF THE SLOT, TAKING NOTE ON THE HALF MOON SHAPED SIDE. REMOVE THE OLD BELT(OR WHAT'S LEFT OF IT). PLACE THE BELT AROUND THE MOTOR SHAFT FIRST. THEN AROUND THE WOODEN BARE SPOT ON THE ROLLER. PUT THE ROUND(CIRCULAR) SIDE OF THE ROLLER IN FIRST, THEN CAREFULLY STRETCH THE ROLLER WHILE HOLDING IN THE ROUND SIDE IN ONE SIDE AND ROTATE THE ROLLER UNTILL THE HALF MOON LINES UP TO THE SLOT. PUSH IT DOWN INTO THE SLOT AND PUT THE ROLLER COVER BACK IN PLACE AND RE-INSTALL THE SCREWS. AND THERE YOU HAVE IT. HOPE THIS HELPS. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. THANK YOU FOR THE HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA.

Belts keep burning up

It sounds like you have a roller problem. This machine has a carbon fibre roller suspended on plastic end caps. When dirt and hair etc. gets in and damage the bearings, the belt will be the first thing to go. If the roller is noisy, that indicates that it is off centre and is rotating unevenly. You will probably have to replace the roller.
Take the belt off and rotate the roller slowly and observe the ends. If it is off balance, it will not rotate evenly. The plastic caps unscrew to reveal the brngs and usually you will find hair and other junk gumming up the works. If the roller is damaged, you will be able to see melted plastic and chards of carbon fibre there.
