Pull the lines off do only one at a time one should stick in the tank 1/4 inch which is your return the second one is your pick up which has a filter in the tank attached to it take a piece of stiff wire or a clothes hanger and bend a tight hook on the end just big enough for the fuel line to fit in it fish the wire in the tank and try to hook the fuel line then pull it out of the tank to take the filter off it might take a few tries but you will get it after that pull the line out from the top not the filter side take the new line and feed it through if you cut a 45 degree angle at the end of the line it makes it easier to feed once you get it in all the way use your piece of wire to hook it through the filler and pull it out then attach your fuel filter then shove it back in the tank like i said it may take you a few times but you will get hope this helps

Why does my craftsman bushwacker hedge trimmers not go fast when I have it full throttle?

if engines stumbling when at full throttle , ck to see that your getting full fuel flow ( lots of bubbles in primer bulb are a sure sign of not a good flow) , locate the fuel filter inside fuel tank , ck it for a dark color ? if so replace it , also try adding some normal car fuel system cleaner to your fuel next time u run it for a few minutes , this helps to loosen stuck deposits inside the carb

Craftsman Hedge Trimmer model 358.796353 that won't operate

The problem you are experiencing is the coil. I had the same problem and confronted a freind that works on small engines. I asked him if the coil could be the problem and he gave me one to try out of another trimmer he had for parts. It is running well. The problem I now have is the blade tang that moves it back and forth broke. Now I'm trying to locate one of them.
