SOURCE: Feature comfort 20,000 btu ng

The first thing I would do is to turn gas supply off and thourghly clean burner and pilot . Blow out with compressed air if you can and clean all vents.
I don't know what area you live in but where we are in central KS. we have a problem with mud dauber wasps and three years ago my empire shop heater was doing the same thing as yours and it had a nest around air intake for the burner. Got rid of the nest and it works fine.
Don't know what type of heater you have but mine required case panel removal to find and repair problem. I hope this helps you. Thanks

I have a Masport free-standing Vienna gas heater. Am able to light the pilot, but can't turn on heater. It is linked to an external thermostat. Would this stop the heater being turned on. C

If your external thermostat is set lower than the temperature in your house the heater will not come on. Make sure your thermostat is set higher than the room temperature and the heater should work. You can do this as an experiment just to try the heater for starting up. Then set it to the temperature you want for comfort. Do not disconnect the thermostat unless it is broken. Your thermostat maintanes the comfortable heat in your house.

My feature comforts fan heater won't turn back on

Many plastic cased heaters are provided with a safety device (thermotemp) to protect it from over heating, especially fan operated type heaters. Once blown only a tecnician could replace it. You did not state what type of heater this is.

My comfort zone cz792 utility heater will come on and fan will blow and it will stop thn start then stop and was not doing this a week ago when i first bought it. what is causing this?

With the heater unplug from power source, check for continuity between the two terminals on the thermostat. If you get an indication on your multi-meter of infinity, then the contacts of the thermostat are working correctly. No indication of continuity, is probably because the contacts ofthe thermostat have burned out and have decrease in thickness, breaking the circuit. I know of no place in which you can find a replacement thermostat. The contacts on the particular heater where evidently designed of inferior material. I have had two and had the same problems with both. You get what you paid for.

The car starts to over heat when it is stopped for more than 2 to 3 minutes. it also accelerates on its own and doesn't stop till it gets to 35 mph.

turn the heater upto full heat (no a/c)to see if the temp goes down if it does then change thermostat.(i assume the fan(s)work)regarding the car accelerating on its own this is an anti stall feature on most cars(not all)especially VW group,it is also very comfortable in heavy traffic conditions when you dont need gas to move.(put the car in 2nd and crawl along with the rest)
