SOURCE: Delonghi Pinguin Air Conditioner

I sat on hold with Delonghi for about 25 minutes before I talked to someone this morning.  Expect a long wait before you get helped.

For this specific problem (unit works, just doesn't blow cold air), the unit MUST be sent to an authorized repair facility.  No repair facilities in Texas.  The closest one to Texas is:

All-Brands Appliance 5008 W. Linebaugh Ave. Suite #8 Tampa, Florida 33624 813-908-2002
Delonghi said they will cover mine under full warranty up to 13-months.  No RMA needed, just a photo copy of the purchase receipt for the unit. Outbound shipping is something not covered by Delonghi, but they will pay for parts, labor, and return shipping.
All-Brands said they don't have any specific requirements for packing, other than making sure the casters on the bottom of the unit are well-protected.  It is common for them to break during shipping.  They recommended, though, that if you have someplace nearby that does professional packing, like a UPS Store, to take it there.  It's not a requirement, just a recommendation.
Along with the unit send a copy (not the original) of your purchase receipt, your name and telephone number, and the address to where the unit will be returned.  Also, include a detailed description of the problem with your unit.
I REALLY hope this information helps someone!

Why does the split unit blow hot air in air conditioner mode, when switched on with the remote control.

because you have the temperature set at 28 degrees celcuis . Change the temperature to 18 degrees and it will cool 28 is hotter
It is a reverse cycle air conditioner it will warm the room if you set temperature to 28 degrees . Set it lower and it will blow out cold air.
Have exact same air conditioner as I recognise the remote control.
point it at the air conditioner when altering the temperature setting.
Check under the slide compartment also on the remote for more advanced settings.

I have a split system air conditioner that quit blowing cold air

either the compressor is not running or you have a leak and are low on freon. the outside fan running does not tell you the compressor is running.

The blower starts before its warm and it blows cold air for about 30 sec when its shutting down .

When any unit 1st come's on, you'll always have some cold air that's in the ducts that will blow out before you get warm air. If your duct work is uninsulated in a cold basement or crawl space then it will be even more noticeable. When the unit is heating from the Heat Pump mode, it takes a little longer for the gases to get warm enough so you'll fell heat. When it gets cold enough for the unit to switch from heat pump to the gas or electric heat source, you'll get warm air faster. If you have gas heat, some Thermostats have an anticipator setting for the gas valve. If it's set wrong it will effect the on/off cycle of the gas valve.
All duct work in non heated and a/c spaces, including inside walls, above dropped ceilings, in attics and crawl spaces, must be sealed & taped at the seams and joints and then insulated and taped.
Most new construction has solved that problem with insulated duct board, flexible insulated supply's and special tape.

The air conditioner will work for a while but then shut down by itself.

Due to the many different questions I see about Air Conditioning, I am including this overview to help us better understand each other for trouble shooting. A basic air conditioning system has a Thermostat, Air Handler or Furnace Fan and a Condensing unit. In a split system, the condensing unit (Condenser) is separate from the furnace and usually in the back yard. When working properly, it blows hot air. It connects to the cooling part of the system by 2 copper lines. One large line and 1 small line. The part that cools the house is the "Evaporator" and is usually on top of the furnace inside the square metal box (Plenum). When the Air Conditioner is running, the large copper line should be cold and the smaller line should be warm. Common signs of low refrigerant are that both lines are the same temperature and/or frost or ice has built up on the large line at the condenser. The thermostat will normally display room temperature on till it is touched to change the setting. It could have a "Span" setting as well as times and temperatures. The operating "span" of MOST residential thermostats is 40 to 90 degrees. That means you can set it as low as 40 degrees and no higher than 90 degrees. It probably has a fan switch also. When in the "ON" position, the fan will run constantly, 24 / 7, but the condenser will still cycle on and off as needed to keep the house at set point. If you have a suggestion to include in this paragraph, please let me know.

Please read the above paragraph and see if we can narrow the possibilities. How long does it stay off? Does it restart by itself? Does it blow any cold air while running? Thank you. Roger

Unit only stays on for a couple of minutes before shutting off

Good after noon i have a Starway Split Wall Mount Reverse Cycle Air Con. the problem i have is when i need to warm my house the air coming from the system is cold. even with the temp setting on the sun...

Hello,

Examine the condenser. The condenser pushes the air and expels the warm air from the air condition to the house. Also check the fan heater on your system to see if it is functioning, because if it is not, it will circulate the heat from the unit to the house, in this case,it will need to be fixed. also check if the thermostat on the unit is regulating because if it is not regulating, you will not get the house to warm due to bad thermostat, check to ensure it is regulating, if not, replace it, it might be defected because that is the key to regulate the unit. so pay attention to it to see if it regulating the unit, if not, replace as advice.

Take care.

Check electrical connection at the T'stat and the indoor blower . Sounds like a loose connection.

Help with split sysytem

I do not suspect the remote, I think it is the return air sensor on the evaporator coil. If you can remove the plastic cover that encloses the coil do so and vacuum the coil and any sensors you may see. I suspect that a technician will have to perform a resistance test on the sensor.
