There are only two parts in this set that have moving parts and can create noise. One is the color wheel and the other is the fan. There are actually two fans. One you can easily see from the back of the set when you remove the cover and the other is not visible. The most likely cause of this hum is the color wheel. It has bearings and they wear out. You need to be careful when or if you attempt to replace it. There are actually two types of color wheel for this model. Samsung doesn't tell you this. One has air bearings and the other has ball bearings. Mine had ball bearings and I ordered the part I thought was correct. I replaced it and it worked for about at day then failed. I thought maybe I had a defective part and returned the color wheel and ordered another one. Same result. I did some further research and ended up ordering the ball bearing type of color wheel instead of the air bearing type. There is a website that shows you the difference.
This seems to have resolved the issue. Good luck. It's not too difficult to change this color wheel but you do have to dismantle the set a bit and it helps to be somewhat mechanically inclined. make sure to take notes as you take it apart so you remember how to get it back together.

About a week ago I replaced the lamp in my samsung hls24266 with no incident. Now when I turn the tv on, I hear a very loud humming noise. I tried disconnecting the coaxial cable but it does not go away....

I can't explain the timing of your problem and why it showed up after lamp replacement, but Samsung color wheel failures are usually associated with a rather loud hum. I would removed the back, jumper the lamp door switch and try to determine exactly where the hum is originating from. I think you'll find the color wheel is the culprit.

TV made a loud sound and color went green on screen. Unplugged it and now TV won't turn on keeps make a loud humming sound and lamp light keeps blinking.

You TV had encountered a failure for sure and now there is short inthe system. To confirm on the area of fault it is better to remove the power and check the source of the hum. If it is from the drive disconnect to confirm the component but it can be found out by disconnecting the power circuit line on by one. Listen to the hum but take care not to tamper, seek help if not familiar to probe into the power stages. Good day

Picture is black and white

Does it sound like thin grinding noise?
The color wheel is very common problem. Color wheel for this model is about $100 to $150 plus labor.

Toshiba 62HM195, Loud hum noise when TV is first turned on.

I have the exact TV and had the exact same problems. It is the light engine with color wheel that needs to be replaced, and they are VERY hard to come by for this model. Our repairman has had our TV for 5 months and still cannot locate a vendor that carries the part. He said according to Toshiba, the part has been discontinued. If you happen to find one, please post. I'll do the same.

Blurred color and hum

Actually this issue seems to be with your color wheel. Samsung TVs have 2 type of color wheels, silver and gold bearing. The only thing you need to do, is to identify which one of them you have, then buy one and get it replaced.

Loud noise

I believe it is the color wheel. The motor might be going bad or it has dirt or dust in it.

I hope this helps
