Question about Dell Inspiron 6400 Notebook
The other day I was using this notebook with battery and ac plugged in when the screen went black and is just turned off. I have tried the ac adapter with no battery, battery no ac, and both. All resulting in nothing happening...no lights no noises just nothing.
The ac adapter and battery both have power, but none gets to the notebook. After reading it seems that I'm not alone with this issue. Most likely the motherboard is fried, me thinks. Couple of questions:
1) Is this problem inherent to all notebooks, Dell notebooks, or just the 6400?
2) I'll be saving the hdd and possibly the ram, but should I keep it around for spare parts or part it out? and what could I salvage?
The very first thing that u can try is that try with the different ac adaptor and the battery if u have and if it doesnt the same thing then definately u have to replace the motherboard and if the other ac adaptor and the battery works then replace the ac adaptor and the battery but what i suggest u is that u should replace the ac adaptor and the motherboard both at a time and it will be fine and for that u dont have to worry about ur data in the computer cause replacing the motherboard will bot loose ur data.......
