Icemaker 106 626133 in 1987 Whirlpool ED22MMXRW sid-by-side

Happy to report that I now have a working icemaker. I had to replace the control module--just replacing the gear was not sufficient. The wiring was slightly different for the new module because it had a side connector instead of one coming out of the lower left corner, but I was able to use front metal plate plus its attachments (motors and switches) of the new to replace the similar parts on the old.

Ice maker motor keeps freezing up

If you are talking about the icemaker and not the dispenser then the icemaker motor gear is probably broken. Depending on the model you may can replace the motor module or just get a new icemaker.

Ice maker stopped working

if you will remove the front plastic cover on the icemaker take a look at the drive gear. see if the 2 center pins are still present this is a common problem one of the pins will break off causing the gear to pull loose and loose electrical contact for the icemaker motor. replacing the motor module partnumber 8201515 will fix your icemaker thanks for using FixYa Peyton

Whirlpool Ice Maker Won't release ice

Jetguy77,

I have a 1993 year (16 years old now) Whirlpool side-by-side with icemaker, Model ED22PW. I have had similar problems with the icemaker - water goes in, freezes, but ice does not eject from tray. It has happened to this unit 2 times since 1993. It turns out the problem is not the thermostat. It is the icemaker motor module. The icemaker has a small synchronous (clock) motor that rotates the ice ejector. When it goes bad, the ejector does not rotate, either because the module timer had failed or the motor itself has failed. The solution is to go to your nearest applinace parts dealer and by a new "icemaker motor module" for Whirlpool Model (your model here). Mine cost $58.85 the last time I replaced it in 2006. To install the new module, you will need to remove the icemaker from the refrigerator. Mine has 3 screws that attach it to the side. Also unplug the power & control cable. The water tube slides out when you pull the unit forward. When you get it out, it is then easy to remove the motor module and insert the new one. You may have to reset the timer on the module to get the tray to fill completely.

Kitchen Aid side-by-side (don't know #, but think it's Architect), ice maker not working, water fine. I can't find any solutions on troubleshooting pages. HELP!!!!

i bet the module on the icemaker is bad ,,,, if the icemaker set where you can pull off the cover and look at the gear and see if the center pin is broken or twisted then the module is bad and if you contact me i will check on the part for you ,,, if its not then you have a bad valve that supplys water to the icemaker ,,, your frig has a double valve so water in door can work but not icemaker / larry

Icemaker makes ice, but doesn't dump it.

If you have a steady blinking light when you open the door then the sensor is working. I these cases the problem is usually in a bad motor or thermostat in the icemaker. If you need I can give you instructions on how to change these parts.

Ice maker not working

the icemaker will run at 120v ac +- 10% so 108 v is within range altho marginally. since you have the icemaker removed. remove the front cover and check to see if the drive gear is broken or if the 2 center pins that hold the gear in place are twisted or broken. this is most likely the problem. the motor module can be replace very easily part # is 8201515

the normal home position for this icemaker is at the 2:00 position facing the front of the icemaker. if it is any other position the motor module is almost always the culprit..

Ice maker stopped working

pull the front cover off of the icemaker and see if the drive gear is broken (there are 2 tabs in the center of the gear make sure these arent twisted or broken as well) if so replace the module on the fron of the icemaker. if that checks fine check for frozen fill line..
