Re: system board replacement

Where can I order the small component board with the switches for the VIZIO L32 HDTV? I have found my problem the switch is corroded and jammed due to my sister in laws cat! I have determined no other damage but the input switch and the contactor for the remote sensor. I have also placed a plexigalss barrier to prevent further damage. Oh the things you get into for family!

Re: system board replacement

Leadtech described how to remove the back panel. However, after removing all the screws the panel does not easily come off. Do you need to pry off the back panel?

Re: system board replacement

As long as you know how to use a screw gun or drill, then, you will be able to replace the main PCB. There are only two main boards in this set, the main and the power supply. To remove the back, take off the stand (if it is on a stand), usually held on by four screws. Place the set face down (on a soft towel or blanket) to work on it. Remove the back and you may find a large shield covering the main and/or the power supply. The rest is up to you. You'll be fine, any help just respond to this solution and it will contact me.

Dead set (no indication lights coming on when I push the power button.

Hi Gwendolyn,

First of all thank you for posting your question here at Fixya.
I'm assuming here that you're TV is a Vizio L32 HDTV.
My initial advice is to ensure that the AC source(outlet) is live. Please plug the unit to a known working outlet, if you are using a surge protector, directly plug the power cord of the TV to the outlet to confirm that the AC source is not the issue here.
If you've confirmed that the AC source is not the problem, then the fault is inside the TV and most likely the power supply. Most of the TV with a dead set symptoms that I've encountered is a power supply issue but of course needs to be confirm.

If your unit is not under warranty period (if so, avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for free, opening the rear cover will void the warranty), open the back cover, check the internal fuse of the power supply board, this is near where the AC power cord's directly connected. Check its continuity using the multimeter/ohmmeter, if you found it open, replaced it with a new same current rating that is printed on its body itself. Sometimes internal fuse fail due to voltage surge/flactuation, aging, etc, replacing with new one resolve the issue, however if the fuse blow again, this is an indication of more serious problem on the power supply board, it needs to replaced the entire board.
If the fuse is intact, you have to measure the output voltage of it through connector J1 (pin 9,10,11). You should be getting 5 Volts. If there's no voltage at these pin, you're power supply board is dead, replaced the entire board. If the 5 volts is present, replaced the main board.
I've provided you a links for the power supply board and mainboard below.

Last night our TV made a loud popping noise then the picture went out. We still have sound but have trouble turning the TV off. What could this be and is it fixable? Thanks, Anne Marie Orcutt

Question shows it is Vizio L32 lcd tv and symptom shows back light inverter board for defective for some reason and loud noise would be popping of any chip on inverter board. has replacement boards of that model on reasonable price and local tv repairman will replace defective board after checking/ testing the tv.
Hope these info will help.

Vizio TV wont turn on after three weeks no use

My vizio recently did the same exact thing. Vizio sent an HDTV tech out to fix it and it was the power board. He put a new board in (took 15 min) and the tv works like new.

My Vizio L32 periodically turns itself off, multiple time a day.

My 42" and 32" started doing that, I bought it form Costco, they set me up with Vizio under warrarnty. A tech came out and changed out the circuit boards, but the problem persisted, they are now going to send me a reburbished replacement. I'm not Happy, they should send me a new non defective one(actually 2). I will not be buying any more Vizios!

Vizio L32 TV won't turn on. yellow power light lit, should turn to green when button or remote is pressed, and set should come on. No response to either remote or manual buttons. No change after unplugging...

Had same prob;em. Replace main board and now works just fine. You need to take the back off and under the metal cover is the main board. The part number should start with 3320-xxxx-xxxx. You can purchase the board from Vance Baldwin. sign in as a guest. I will warn you the cost of the board is high.
