Hi!  Sorry you've had to wait so long for a reply, but I've only just stumbled upon your problem.  You probably don't need help any longer, but here goes anyway! You will not find a fuse, because there isn't one.  If your Henry just stopped, without making any strange noises or smells, it's very unlikely that you have a motor problem.  Quite often the wires can become broken inside the electric cable - with no visible external damage - especially where it enters the plug and can be subject to both bending and pulling stresses.  If the machine came to me for attention, that's where I'd look first.  Check the wires for electrical continuity. If you still need help, and this solution doesn't work, please write again and I'll suggest some less likely things to look for. Good luck!

I have taken henrys lid off to look at the motor now he has stopped working

It's possible when you took the lid off one of the wires has come off a switch or the field. It could also mean the motor has gone. Recommend you get it checked out.

My henry wont pick up any dirt and how do i change the filter ...

The filter on a Henry does not need changing (unless torn or
damaged). It simply neeeds cleaning, either by vacuuming with
another machines or brushing clean. For maximum suction, air
must be able to flow through it. Next, change the bag. Finally
remove hoses and pipes etc and switch on, the suction that you can feel by putting your hand against his "nose", is the same suction that you should feel when pipes are back on.

If it is not, then you will have a blockage, usually in the flexi hose, but drop a coin through in order to establish where.

My Henry keeps shorting out? Changed fuse and bag but still wont work?

Most common cause of this problem is a damaged flex. Damage may not be visible externally, but after a lot of bending and pulling the wire inside the flex can break. This usually happens close to the plug, so examine it very carefully for signs of damage (if there has actually been a short circuit, there may be a tiny hole blown in the outer insulation). Unfortunately there is no easy way to locate an internal break without special testing equipment. You can try just cutting off the old plug with about 6 inches of flex, and then fitting a new plug - if that doesn't work you may need professional help. Good luck!

Automatic rewind cable not working. Cable will only come out a few feet then jams. Currently using an extension lead. Any advice on how to free cable much appreciated.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
I am sorry that Henry Hoover is having a problem with his cordwinder and what happens that the cord tends to overlap the other cord inside of the vacuum and what needs to be done is this; #1 take apart the cordwinder and unwrap al the cord all the way out then re-wrap the cord and re-install #2, if that does not work then lubricate the cordwinder but not the cord to have it work more efficiently, and #3 if all else fails replace the cordwinder with a new one. Always when using the cordwinder, always pull out everything until the end to use the cord all the way out to prevent the cord from over lapping and binding up inside the Henry Hoover. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
