Question about Brand Remote Start/keyless/car Alarm Very Sleek

1 Answer

Remote start/ 09 Camry installation

What are the absolute necessary wires and components for the remote start installation. Have the alarm system also but do not want to install. The locks work, flashes work upon lock and unlock. Remote start does not turn engine over and the box clicks when activated. Is hood switch required? Is Alarm Horn required? The directions are terribly inadequate and have not found concurring directions online.

You need to adjust the tachometer sensing wire, it usually wraps around a spark plug wire so I can sense when the car starts. On my spy alarm, the wire was grey. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I bought a SPY TWO

Hi,

Well done.....

Sounds to me like you've installed it correctly.

The only thing I could recommend at this point, is to scan your vehicle's PCM for OBDII fault codes - this will immediately identify which ignition circuit/component may have been disturbed during installation.

Cheers,

I disconnected the Karr alarm system from my 2000 Toyota camry and now my ac, windows or gauges work. Can anyone help me?

I would start by checking the fuses for the componants that aren't working. Other than the guages, the other componants utilize relays as well. Check those also. If they still don't work you will have to trace them back. I doubt if these componants are at all wired through the alarm system.

I bought a Spy brand one-way car alarm/remote start for my wife's 09 Camry. Everything is installed, and works except for the remote start.

Installations of this nature are usually reserved for professionals. However, get out your installation manual. You will also need two single pulse double throw relays and some diodes. First you will need to locate the ground when running. This wire might be labeled " (-) third ignition". The first relay for the starter will be wired like so: starter wire to 86, fused 12 volts to 87, 30 out to vehicle second starter wire, 85 to ground when running. The second relay will be wired 86 to vehicle ignition, 87 to fused 12 volt, 30 out to second ignition, and 85 to ground when running.

Installing aftermarket remote start on a 2007 Dodge ram 1500

Oh yes. You will need an interface for the remote starter to work. You can purchase an FLCAN or an XK09 but, these components must be programmed to function properly. You can purchase an EVO-ALL; it does not need to be programmed. The installation instructions can be downloaded at ifar.ca. The three components mentioned above will work almost necessary components in the vehicle . Hardwire the system with 5303 and then wire the interface to the vehicle through the CAN data wires.

I had an aftermarket alarm system in my car when i bought it. the wiring was tapped into the fuses, causing one to burn out and the car not to start. i took it out, and the car starts. but now the...

There are still components of the alarm interfering with your vehicles operation. Now, you have two choices. 1. remove all components of the alarm or 2, properly wire the alarm back into power. If you have the FOB's for the alarm and the only reason you removed the it was because it blew that fuse I would tap the power line and reactivate the alarm system as that is going to be the easier of the two solutions. If You opt for option 1 you will need to locate all components of the alarm that were installed to include starter kill devices which may not be an easy task since you didn't originally install that alarm. Depending on how it was wired it it could be using slices that weren't properly made or protected which is causing the issues or they could have used connectors that are hard to identify.

I lost the alarm remote for my 1996 camry I still have the key but I cannot disable the alarm?

If this alarm system makes it you engine won't start, it is a little more complicated but if all it does is make noise then open the door, open the hood, find the alarm horn (it will be the one making all the noise) and cut the wires. They can be easily spliced back together once you get a new remote.

remote start systems have a dis-arm alarm output wire ... this must be connected to the OEM alarm disarm wire ... your installer needs to service it.
