Question about Fisher and Paykel DEGX1 Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Burning smell after hitting the reset button

My Fisher & Paykel top loading dryer stopped drying the clothes as appears to be a common problem.  After cleaning all the hidden lint I hit the reset button and within a minute started to get a nasty burning smell.  Help I am afraid to use it and have it sitting unplugged.

The lint may have moved into the motor/ or other areas, clean the unit again and have another inspection, checking for burn't wire etc.

Bought dryer In October 2007. Now the auto-dry cycle is not doing the job. Clothes are still quite damp when cycle shuts off. The lint bucket is not full and we cleaned out area leading to it along...

dryer's have a long belt that runs around the drum. a common culprit is an idler pulley on the belt tensioner. you can take off the front of the dryer and oil it for a temp fix. it will probably need to be replaced
