Hey, i just bought COD world at war, i put the cd in my xbox360 for the first time and the xbox 360 made alot of noise while it readed the disc. So i turned it off, and turned it on again and i check the cd it is full of scraches!!! This is my 3th game in my consule that have been scrached after putting it in my xbox360!!! This game's costed me a total of 150 euro already! Ive gone back to the store with my COD disc, and they said they cant refund it! I want a refund of my COD disc and i want my xbox 360 fixed!
If your 360 is still under warenty with microsoft they will replace your games and your system. give them a call. If its not under warenty you will have to purchase a replacement disk drive as its clear the laser is off kilter. In the mean time i would suggest not putting any other disks into the system until the issue has been resolved. Good luck!

call of duty:world at war nice game.. it is a good thing that you clean the disc,is there any visible scratches on the game disc?, if none, please do try another disc game that is available, check if the other game disc will have the same error message if it does, unfortunately it is the console but if other game disc work it may do happen that this is a disc issue
if your XBOX is standing or vertically that may be the problem. the CD's are CD ROM so thats why they gets scratch a lot and never work. i had a XBOX too. the first on and the 360 too they both had the same problem so i bought a PS3 and this thing works flawlessly
no if every other game works fine then it may be the game software your trying to setup take it back to where you bought and trade it for a new one if that doesnt fix it then thats a new for me i have never heard of cod4 or cod 5 what is that let me know i can buy it maybe see if i could do it and then could tell you more easier what to do send me a message at my email account instaed of hear at email@example.com
i had the same problem with my xbox 360, but with call of duty world at war. i had to exchange my xbox 360, for a new one. and it now works fine, so you should probably stop trying to use the game, or exchange your 360.
First of all, does it only happen with COD? If it only happens when you try to play that game, then it is the disc. If it happens with all games, i suggest to call Xbox Support. If you say it ain't the cables, then i would get one of those disc's that clean the drive in the xbox, try it again. If your out of your warranty, you can buy a new xox 360 Drive, i do not know if your up for that task though.
