Question about Cell Phones

1 Answer

My blackberry pearl just started to annoy me with the constant message "You are attempting to open a secure connection, but the server's certificate is not trusted" When I click continue, close connection, or view certificate, I eventually get the same message. When I click "Trust certificate", I am prompted to enter my "key store password", of which I know nothing. This message is relentless, interfering with all other functions.

My cousin put in a password for my blackberry 8220 he forgot the code and now i have one chance left before the phone is wiped what should i doo??? i need help plzz and thank you

Forgot BlackBerry Device Password
  • If you have forgotten your BlackBerry device password, and your BlackBerry device is on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, contact your BlackBerry Enterprise Server administrator and request to have your password reset.
  • If your BlackBerry device is not connected to a BlackBerry Enterprise Server and you have forgotten your password, there is no way to have the password reset without erasing all the data.

If you know the password you're typing is correct, try the following:
  1. Deliberately type in an incorrect password five times on your BlackBerry smartphone.
  2. Before the BlackBerry smartphone allows a further attempt, you will be prompted to type the word blackberry in plain text.
  3. Instead of asterisks, the text you have been entering for the password will now show in plain text. Check to verify that it is correct.
  4. If the password is still being rejected by your BlackBerry smartphone as incorrect, connect the BlackBerry smartphone to a computer that has BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed.
  5. A prompt will appear in BlackBerry Desktop Manager to type the password for the BlackBerry smartphone. Type your password to rule out missed key strokes, incorrect symbols, or a problem with the BlackBerry smartphone

How to send mms from my blackberry pearl 8220? I tried and i see a box with red outline and and a red L inside the box when attempt is made.

You must have a blackberry data connection on your account to enable multi media messaging. If you are using your blackberry but are not paying for the internet connection then at the minimum you must have a pay per use data connection. If you are using an unlocked blackberry on a network other than the one it was intended for you may have a service book/wap settings issue.

Password was entered incorretly 3 times now it says wiping all data. now says scrubbing

As a security feature, the BlackBerry device is designed to allow a maximum of 10 attempts by the BlackBerry device user to type the correct password. After the tenth attempt, if the correct password has not been typed, all data is erased from the BlackBerry device in order to discourage its theft or misuse. If you are certain that the password you are typing into the BlackBerry device is correct, please complete the following steps.
  1. Deliberately type in an incorrect password five times on your BlackBerry device.
  2. Before the BlackBerry device allows a further attempt, you will be prompted to type the word blackberry in plain text.
  3. Instead of asterisks, the text you have been entering for the password will now show in plain text. Check to verify that it is correct

  5. A prompt will appear in Desktop Manager to type the password for the BlackBerry device. Type in your password to rule out missed key strokes, incorrect symbols, or a problem with the BlackBerry device
  6. If the password you have given is still rejected, and your BlackBerry device is on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server that has software version 4.0 or greater, contact your BlackBerry Enterprise Server Administrator and request that your password be reset for you.
If you are not on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server and have forgotten your password, there is no way to have the password changed without wiping all data from your BlackBerry device.

That sounds really annoying. If its not a hardware issue maybe you could look at the screenlight app to force the light on.

Unlock blackberry pearl

It is possible to unlock your Verizon BlackBerry Pearl. Infact I got my Curve 8310 unlocked last week.
Here is the link that I used to purchase my unlock code.
Unlock code came in via email, along with the instructions on how to key in the code, and within 30 seconds my BB was unlocked.!

Or you can call your provider to request an unlock code for free, if you are with them for more then 90 days, they will send you the code with in 1 - 3 weeks.
