1) Launch services.msc from a run command
2) Find the SLUNotify service & stop it
3) Find the Software Licensing service & stop it (it may say that ReadyBoost needs that service to run; stop it anyway)
4) Restart both services, starting with Software Licensing

That's all. No reboot needed.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I need to know how to uninstall optional windows updates

Go to Control Panel > Device Manager.Find the video card in the list.Right click on it and select properties.Click on the 'driver' tab.Use the option to roll back the driver.Remember not to accept hardware drivers from Windows Update in the future.you should be able to uninstall your display driver from within Device Manager as described above. You can also uninstall it from within Programs and Features http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/123397-uninstall-change-program.html)
if the driver is listed in the uninstall list. Sometimes you may need to do this while in Safe Mode if it will not uninstall while logged in to your user account normally.

Boot to Vista. Then
  • right-click "my computer", then "properties".
  • click the "Advanced" section (Vista: on the left side bar).
  • In the section that says "Startup and Recovery", click "settings".
  • Under "Default operating system", choose "Windows Vista".
  • REMOVE the checks next to "Time to display list of..." and "Time to display recovery options..."
  • click ok to everything.
Now you will need to remove Windows XP.
IMPORTANT: for the next step make sure you boot to Windows Vista. Otherwise you could corrupt your computer.
  • Go to "Start", "Control Panel"
  • Open "Administrative Tools"
  • next, open "Computer Management".
  • On the left, there's a side bar. Under "Storage", click "Disk Management".

Unable to install updates

First, do you know how to access the Event Viewer? Control Panel's "Administrative Tools" If so, are there any errors listed under WindowsUpdateClient? Anything under Bits-Client?

Also, you did Activate your Operating System, correct? Some updates will not install if the system is not activated..
