Question about HP DeskJet 1280 InkJet Printer
Replaced the colour cartridge with the correct (78) cartridge and the printing is very wishy washy with what appears to be no yellow comming through. Have done all the test and cleaning steps and they have all been ok. Is it possible that a new cartridge just hasnt got any yellow in as I keep getting the colour ink low warning.
Since the printer cannot detect the amount of ink in the cartridge, the OEM companies place a chip inside of each cartridge that counts the number of pages that you print. When the cartridges reach a certain number of pages, they automatically tell your printer that you are running low on ink, even if it is not empty yet.
If the cleaning steps on your printer is still not fixing the color, try the very first tip on this page:
I have found that using warm water on the paper towel clears the prints up better.
